@steveltn
DNA-88968 MediaIsTypeSupportedTest.InvalidCodecId fails on ARM Mac (Big Sur)
This is the only entry that doesn't say anything, unfortunately.

@gik-team There are a few issues fixed listed in Opera 75 changelog.
Regarding the Opera 76 changelog, maybe there haven't been anything to be fixed yet.

@leocg said in Native M1 ARM Version of Opera?:
@gik-team There are a few issues fixed listed in Opera 75 changelog.
Unfortunately, they are not explicit, it is difficult to understand what exactly we are talking about.
Other browsers are already supports new M1 chip. And the question arises: why is everything so complicated and not obvious with the Opera?I have been working with opera for 15+ years now and do not want to switch to another at all.

I think that when they have a build with support for M1, they will mention it if they think it's necessary and worthful.
In the system requirements for Opera for Mac, the processor is not even mentioned. I wonder if it's because it may not be that relevant.

@leocg, the problem is that for M1 users, the current version of the Opera browser is very slow. Yes, it works in general but very slow) Without adding support, this cannot be fixed.
Let's wait and hope ... -

Opera 74.0.3911.160 (latest)
macOS 11.2.2Just migrated all my stuff from my "old" Intel i9 to Apple M1 (using macOS built-in Migration Assistant).
Ref. Opera:
Most Settings gone, all entries in Quick-Start gone - this can be fixed quickly w. little effort.
Luckily it kept the stored passwords.But. ... Opera is basically Unusable in its current release on M1. Sooooo sloooooow!
I even reset Opera and deleted all settings and everything - same story
Switched to Brave Browser for now, as Safari (which I used and loved since its existence), doesn't feature Plugins and I am Saturated of those idiotic cookie messages and Guugle asking me like 100x per day if I care to accept their silly terms, YuuTuube asking the same and wether I care to log in (No ! I don't :D) showing useless ads. Those were the 1st reasons to leave Safari and join Opera.
Opera is still the best Browser on Intel, not only for the unmatched feature of saving webpages 1:1 as PDF!
The best, except maybe the lack of the standard macOS key-Combo to cycle through windows
(i.e. Command and the 1st key next to the left SHIFT-key mostly the "<"-key :°)Looking forward to the Devs solving this soon.
Cheers!

@leocg Opera feels significantly slower than brave, edge and chrome on the M1 macs. everything takes longer to load and it's just not a good experience. in speedometer 2.0 (web browsing test) it gets less than half the score (200 vs 100).
i've switched to brave (for the time being) and absolutely love it. I recommend anyone with an m1 mac to switch to it until Opera releases a native M1 version. it's too big of a real world difference to ignore.

@gik-team
Nice! Much better, much faster.Yet still behind Brave and Safari - at least performance-wise.
But the Devs are on the right path.

@gik-team Same. I have now nearly fully transitioned over to Mac Safari and I did not want to do that!

I have 98% switched over to safari and I didn't want that. The only thing I use Opera for now it the naughty sites I cant remember the passwords for. It is such a shame because I now do not bother to launch Opera on my mobile either. I always loved using flow to send pages between my devices.
