@leocg I am of a different opinion. Perhaps I am wrong, but I would expect that in a forum thread for a very specific topic, moderation would mean that people who come along and "simply express their opinion", an opinion that has nothing constructive to address, or explain or help the problem in any way, and is diametrically opposed to the topic .. I would expect those posts to flagged or moved so that people that are in fact very much missing a functionality are not, for the lack of a better word, insulted by these opinions. We can consider it "moderation" in what one thinks is appropriate to say in a given context and deciding that his or her opinion would do no good either to the people's emotions, or to the topic at hand.

@leocg Im with ericartman here. You're a moderator, so every word you say will feel like it comes from Opera's moderation team, not from your personal opinion. And tbh, I didn't come here asking for your personal opinion, and Im sure whoever runs this forum didn't appoint you as a moderator just so you can argue your personal opinions against people who are asking genuine questions and expressing sincere disappointment at the latest update to the browser.

Anyway, do the devs get notified about people's complaints on the forum? Is there any chance they'll hear us out? Or are we just wasting our time arguing with a moderator when we post here? Is there a more direct method for us to send our concerns?

Let's just all calm down a bit. We're all happy and unhappy about many things, but I'm sure we'll manage to stick to civilised behaviour.

On the communication channel topic - I'm afraid there is no direct line. I might be unaware of one though. There's also the general feedback, naturally, it's plagued by all the things that any feedback form is suffering from. Not stating that opera doesn't read them though. It's the lack of a response or a relatively quick one is what usually stops people from using it in the first place.

@ericartman92 As far as I know, no one is being insulted here. If you think someone's post insults you, just report it and the post will be analyzed.

@leocg I was not implying that anyone was being insulted here. I was merely trying to make sure this conversation doesn't escalate into something really unpleasant.

By the way, I, as others, am really interested if there's any information on how communication between users and management can be implemented or used (outside of the general feedback of course).

If this forum is being monitored, then that would be nice to know and have confirmed.

@dualdisc Moderators are just users with some privileges, they don't work for nor represent Opera at all.

No one is preventing you from expressing your opinion nor asking questions. And this is a forum, so yes, its about (personal) opinions.

About your questions, yes, people from Opera read the forum and they take what people say into consideration. However, it doesn't mean that they will do everything people ask for.

@paulbizsunny I am not sure how I can help. On the topic, there are some options about figuring out a workaround, such as stopping updates or others, but, unfortunately, I am of not much use otherwise. Sorry.

@paulbizsunny What Opera has to do with it? Since your problem has nothing to with what is being discussed in this topic, please open a new one.

@paulbizsunny unfortunately, it seems that, given the circumstances, none of us can really offer you any help here. We are unaware of any details and this is probably not quite the right place for seeking support with your issue. Perhaps you should make a new topic and add details there.

@ericartman92 The fact that they added 'recently closed' tabs on the new 'Serach in tabs' popup and added 'Show more' button (in 71 ver.) to view more than 3 recent tabs means that they're notified about the bunch of negative feedback on forum/in the blog.
I hope they have plans to restore the functionality of previous TabMenu, but even if they really have such plans, the restoring process is going quite slowly, as it seems (I think it's need more 2 or 3 Stable releases until the full functional restoring).
*Negative moment here is that they removed the flag already, and there's no way to return the TabMenu (during the time they improving the new popoup)

@andrew84 thanks you for the info. I am not sure how I'm going to follow the progress as it moves forward because I stopped opera updating. I might try it on my work machine, but I'm not sure that I'd be missing out on a ton of features if I simply stick to the pre-70 version.

I'd be really happy if the button to "see more" would be something that the app remembers as a preference or something close to that. In that case we would get what we want, albeit in a reduced functionality state, but that would be something.

Unfortunatelly, the button doesn't remember its state (you need to click it every time after the popoup was closed). I stated (suggested) many times already that the lists should be collapsable/expandable like it worked previously. Someone doesn't need 'open tabs' always visible, someone doesn't need 'recently closed', expandable lists will please both.
