@tammy090 @GreedyOne Read through the thread please. A solution has been posted multiple times. Please note that even with the update, it takes time for the certificates to take effect (apparently).

I had all the same problems as everyone here, and I updated (twice) to versions 56 & 57 from version 55. But I needed version 59. So I actually googled Opera 60.0.3255.59 and it showed me a link
https://get.geo.opera.com/pub/opera/desktop/60.0.3255.59
of which I clicked the bottom one. This relaunched my Browser, which STILL didn't work, but the Red O at the top right asked me to relaunch the Browser AGAIN and this time it updated to Version 60.0.3255.59. Which presently seems to work with the VPN.
It is all to do with an outdated http certificate for the VPN, apparently.

@tammy090 https://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2019/04/opera-58-0-3135-132-and-60-0-3255-59-stable-update/
This link goes to a manual update. You'll have to choose the version applicable to you, and allow it to update. That will bring you to their latest stable version. -

@tammy090 Manually update it. Google the Opera version (60.0.3255.59) and click on the bottom link of the "Get Opera" address

@operafanuk Okay, I managed to update my systems to Stable 60....59.
It took many attempts on my Win10 64-bit system. Nevertheless, I still needed to uninstall the previous version many times over, and click Re-install before it would update.As has been mentioned on here, the .59 update for Stable wasn't working for everyone. So whilst I've now got it, I have noticed performance deterioration with this browser update, which I guess may be solved with the next update. I always say things happen which at times can't be helped - that's life.
My Windows7 32-bit system was something else entirely and has taken me many hours to address.
Try as I did - every which way - It point blank refused to update and was crashing the browser at around 43%.I eventually gave up with it, backed up my speeddials, then completely uninstalled it with IObit uninstaller.
Downloaded a brand new totally clean Stable which gave me v60...59. Again, the performance is none too good just now, and I'm certain all this will be resolved with the next update.
Thank you to Opera devs for pushing the update out on a Sunday. We all appreciate your time and efforts.
