@mrb96 There seems to have been a worldwide issue with the VPN and its HTTP certificates. Update to the latest version of Opera (60.0.3255.59) - you may need to manually update it (i.e. search for "Opera 60.0.3255.59" in Google) and then run it.

I had all the same problems as everyone here, and I updated (twice) to versions 56 & 57 from version 55. But I needed version 59. So I actually googled Opera 60.0.3255.59 and it showed me a link
https://get.geo.opera.com/pub/opera/desktop/60.0.3255.59
of which I clicked the bottom one. This relaunched my Browser, which STILL didn't work, but the Red O at the top right asked me to relaunch the Browser AGAIN and this time it updated to Version 60.0.3255.59. Which presently seems to work with the VPN.
It is all to do with an outdated http certificate for the VPN, apparently.
