Custom VPN

I like the VPN feature in the browser which lets me VPN my browsing but other things not. It would be great if I could configure it to use any OpenVPN configuration.

No one will give good (fast) VPN to milions of users for free! If you are not paying for the product, you are the product!
I have used Opera VPN occasionally and it is helpful when you need to access some blocked websites in foreign/your country (e.g. Wikipedia in Turkey). But if you need good VPN service, you will have to pay.
So I agree with OP and his request - it would be nice to have openVPN configuration implemented in Opera, so we can set-up our VPN to be used in browser only. It is useful in cases you don't want to use VPN for other reasons (e.g. Steam)

@nenadandric Firstly! who are you? You from a Opera company. You are representative of the company? I'll tell you one thing. The opera says that this service VPN is free for everyone. Otherwise, opera company, misleads people and deceives their users. But it is not good for opera, to deceive people.
ps: now more less good work VPN again. -

No, I'm not from Opera. I'm just long-time Opera user, and it was the first browser I used as IE alternative 15 years ago.
Opera VPN is free for everyone. And it works. So Opera delivered what they promised, they don't deceive people. But it is not good as some other more expensive solutions. Which is also fine, since Opera didn't tell this will be the best VPN service in the world
I'm going off topic, but there are many other services which are free for everyone but not as good as more expensive ones. I am also paying for mail service, since free ones are not good for me. Bilions of people are using gmail, outlook or yahoo mail for free. And I can't say Gogole, MS or Yahoo are deceiving people just because their service is not good enough for me.
So, in my opinion, Opera is the best browser currently, sicne it has many features other browsers lack. I don't use all of them, but it doesn't mean those are not useful for some people.

@adamhathcock that's a neat idea.
You think you know, but you have no idea.
