by the way, it gets visually polluted to leave the bookmark bar always active. (idk if I am typing correctly because english is not my primary language, but I think you got the idea)
please.

The bookmark bar takes up a bit of space and it being there always isn't necessary to everyday browsing.
An option to show only show the bookmark bar when it's on a new tab would be greatly appreciated.
Many other browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, e.t.c.) have already implemented this feature and Opera users are missing out.
Re: Have bookmarks bar only show in newtab like Chrome?
It seems like many people have wanted this feature for quite a while...

Dear developers, It's not a hard thing. It's 4 years since the first request. We need this feature if you care about your users!!!

Firefox, and even Edge, has this feature as well.
I understand it is not groundbreaking, but it sounds too simple to not implement. Especially since it does not conflict any other features. -

This topic is one of the most viewed and replied to in suggestion and feature requests, but nobody cares.
I wonder, do opera developers read this? -

@A Former User said in Have bookmarks bar only show in newtab like Chrome?:
I'm trying to get away from Google and this is one feature that I miss.
Actually it is a feature that I miss from Opera Presto

@mavili stop asking for it. Can't you see its been years and no one cares.

@wickedgamer They do care about user requests, but they have probably hired Zootopia's bankers as developers.

Hello Opera community and Opera developers,
I just wanted to add my support - please add the discussed functionality: show the bookmark bar in new tab (only) like in Chrome.
Thanks!

Speed dial can basically do this, but I'd prefer to toggle the bookmarks toolbar instead. I think that's better. Plus it would work with my Firefox bookmarks I just imported. Don't want to have to reconfigure all of that into Speed Dial.
