I'm trying to get away from Google and this is one feature that I miss.
Actually it is a feature that I miss from Opera Presto

I agree it would be great
as for Qobuz playback in Opera there as an issue reported in this locked thread
https://forums.opera.com/topic/52963/solved-audio-file-format-playback-problem
from my point of view it is not solved at all, since when you enable the flag you get Hi-Res streaming but your browser is not recognized anymore by Opera, so you cannot even add an extension unless you disable the user agent flag and relaunch Opera.
you need a reality check my friend, we are in 2022, it is since 2013 that Opera works this way, since they abandoned Presto to use blink/chromium, every browser has deals with search providers to include their engines, that is how browser companies make money and give us for free a complicated piece of software. We can only guess why Opera has chosen this way, but is seems elementary that if you structure your browser this way you will get a better deal - read it: more money - with DDG, G et cetera
nine years ago I totally hated this "novelty" - I complained tons of times on the Opera blog, I arrived to the point of quitting Opera, today I have learned to live with it, it is a matter of habit, every browser comes with his hiccups, Opera has a handful of unique features which make my browsing better, it is a live with it or leave it situation, your choice.
@nierninwa there are many ways to get around Opera's limitations about search engines, Vimium is one of them (you can set all the search engines you want in Vimium with the shortcut of your choice and setting one of them as the default of course, and you can use them via keyboard shortcuts).

@leocg I have enabled the flag and it works great, I have not encountered drawbacks yet, cannot wait for further developments, the idea that every item in the Sidebar has - and remembers - the size you have set it is great, way more practical than Vivaldi's panels, where everything is of the same size (example: a video player requires a different screen size than a dictionary).
At the moment we have a flag allowing to have on the sidebar every website you want, any idea when it will be enabled by default? will be it possible then to assign keyboard shortcuts to every website you add? it would be great, the Sidebar is my preferred Opera feature.

I understand the sentiments of many here wanting Brave Search to be another default search engine choice, But Brave Search is not the panacea it appears to be, in my opinion: see this thread I started in the Brave Community Forum: https://community.brave.com/t/yandex-search-less-censored-than-brave-search-please-say-it-isnt-so/356566
I'd just like the option of setting Any search engine as my default and have it used when I highlight a word and the "Search/Copy" option comes up.
you can do that with an extension - I use context-search web extension - which I find way more practical since when you highlight a word you get a pop-up with all the search engines you have in the extension.

@kendavies91945 FYI Brave Search is now 1.0 as of six days ago. So Opera could add it as a default option.
To be one Opera's default search engine you need to have a deal with Opera - this is very old news, since the death of Opera Presto, 9 years ago.
No Opera GX update on iOS in 3 months? is this normal? Thanks
Does Opera plan to offer this feature to other countries?
@jonaballen interesting, sorry for the OT but may I ask why the GX version has not received a single update in 2 months? Thanks
