Sidebar on right (and an argument as to why)

was a loyal Opera user for years until the level of customisation disappeared (with the switch to Chromium) I'm back now (I revisit every year) and I still don't get why the sidebar has no option to relocate to the right.
I prefer it on the right as it does not interfere with the main page placement when I open and close it. Am I Mad? Alone?
Its annoying to have to open a bookmarks page (default), the toolbar that eats up valuable vertical real estate, or a really good flyout (bookmarks by the side) that can only be on the left.
Bookmarks by the side is exactly how I dream the sidebar should work. Just have the option to pop it on the RHS and to fly out as a panel (not a whole page) that has the option to be integrated in the window or an overlay.

Totally would support this. Went looking for the option to move it over to the right today!

For the bookmarks by the side you can use this extension https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/bookmarks-by-the-side/?display=en
It's more or less what you are looking for.

Support this 100%! It's a very cosmetic feature and therefore I wish it would simply be integrated naturally. Feels natural to me and I am frustrated it is not a feature.

+1
Just adding another argument. If you keep the taskbar/dock of your OS on the left side, having the opera sidebar there as well looks unbalanced.

Is actually easiest for right handed people, probably, the most common around the world.
Even web options seems they are mostly on the right of the screen."You cannot know the meaning of your life until you are connected to the power that created you". · Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

Yes, please.
For the best UX, the most important content should be on the far left as far as I know whereas the sidebar is not something we use constantly. Having it on the right would make more sense, although it still would not resolve the page misplacement issue since everything would get squashed to the left rather than the right. A fly-out sidebar would hence be ideal.

I was forced over to FFox because its a must have feature for me (suits my workflow) and the all in one sidebar extension does what Opera used to (bookmarks, history, downloads...all in one, tabbed, resizeable panel with a simple open/close toggle (and plenty of mod options).
I like it docked, not floating or flyout, as sometimes I leave it open when I'm browsing multiple sites via bookmarks. I find it more intuitive and comprehensive than a speed dial or a toolbar and being a left to right reader it doesn't draw my focus at all unlike being on the left does.

Is there any new information on this? Anyone know if planned future releases might add this customization option? -

I was wondering if there are any actual Opera devs on this forum?
It would be great to get some practical feedback -

People from Opera may read this forum but it's an users'forum above all.
It would be great to get some practical feedback
I guess they have more important things to do other than keep replying on someone's request.
