Happened at 3 hours 37 mins 42 s with video from twitch.tv : https://www.twitch.tv/westrice/v/110080586
only 1 tabs openend Facebook
Result : out of memoryFWIW, even using Vivaldi (another chromium-based) browser, on that site, one of its processes steadily increases memory consumption at the rate of roughly 35Kb/second, which is about 2.1 Mb/minute. Likewise, the memory consumption of Firefox 50's single process (a non-chromium browser) also steadily climbs at a roughly similar rate though with some up-and-down activity as it increases, which tends to make me suspect there's something in the Twitch site code/functionality itself involved in your situation.

'That no-one else has reported'?
"that no one else has experienced", what is very different.
Not all reported problems can be reproduced by everyone since many of them may be triggered by a specific hardware and/or software setting.

Maybe something related to Chromium?

I've decided to test different livestreaming services and see what will happen. I've ran opera in private mode, opened one stream at a time and let it run for 5 minutes.
Here are my results. http://i.imgur.com/Gq5aplv.jpg
Then I've opened the same streams in Chromium. Same quality, same amount of time, vastly different memory consumption. http://i.imgur.com/hQZDlzf.jpg
My specs:
CPU - AMD FX 6300
Video - Geforce GTX 750 with 375.70 drivers installed
RAM - 8 gigs
Windows 7 x64 pro
Opera 42.0.2393.94
Chromium 57.0.2964.0 -

I stopped using Opera and switched to Vivaldi and I can assure you it's not Chromium as I have absolutely no "outofmemory" issues using Vivaldi so far (and used it for days now).
I have a 16GB DDR system , Windows 10 , SSD and opera showing outofmemory messages is absurd (btw, if you had a real 64bit version this error would have not appeared:) there is clearly a memory hole in the code introduced with the latest patches/versions. T
Anyway , it is definetely something related to opera last 2 versions (just compare the code and see what you added and do a proper smoke and regression testing this time) , frankly this is a job for QA (if there is something like that at Opera or devs/enduser is the QA?) but i think Developers should look into the code for this and see what sites are causing it , have a debugger running and also checking the process to understand this bug. A end-user cannot do nothing here but experience it.
My Opera configs :
Extension:
1 Adblock Plus
2.Last PassIf we are on the logic that only 10 experienced it and as such it's not important ...well there are other browsers.

They can only do it if they can reproduce the issue. Otherwise they could only do blind guesses.

I've opened a tab with https://www.twitch.tv and will let it open for a few hours to see what happens.
After have spent a few hours running videos on that site, I wasn't able to reproduce that 'out of memory' issue.

For those facing the 'out of memory' issue:
What is your OS?
What is your graphics card?
Any program running in background, like anti-virus, security suite, anti-malware, etc?

Any program running in background, like anti-virus, security suite, anti-malware, etc?I'm using Opera 42.0.2393.94
Windows version 8.1 64 bit
CPU Intel-i5
16GB Memory
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 TiIf I run Opera with the VPN it uses up memory and crashes. If I run it without the VPN it works fine.
Running Youtube and streaming video causes the memory leak to crash the browser much more quickly.
It is reproducible every time and using the Task Manager you can actually watch the memory usage ramp up till it crashes.

Previous author is right.
Main memory leak is located in VPN code, most probably in decryption buffers related code.
As video viewing lead to large transfer amounts you get your leak leading to OOM issue much faster.
Also happens with heavy images loaded sites.
Bug was introduced recently and especially bad became in latest 42 version.

I'm using
- Opera 42.0.2393.94
- Windows 10 64-bit (WoW64)
- Stable version
and also have the same issue, I frequently use the VPN, too. My computer has
- 8GB RAM + 2GB Nvidia video card
My antivirus is - Avira Product version 15.0.24.146 06/12/2016.
I also use AdBlock Plus as Opera's adblocker doesn't have a feature to manually block advertisements/content by clicking on them and it usually misses some ads. Adblock Plus is the only extension I use.
It usually happens when I enter a site with a lot of images and video content. The "out of memory" error also happens if there are too many advertisements. I have been having this issue since the v41 release. Sometimes Opera crashes completely and then restarts by itself, too.

I'm using - Opera 42.0.2393.94 >Windows 7 Ultimate|AMZ athlon X2| 4 GB RAM| comodo firewall only|
Can not even open more than one tab. There was no problem at 42.0.2393.85 so delete the update and reverted to 42.0.2393.85 again. But today it is happening with 42.0.2393.85 too.
VPN is always on, When I don't use VPN there is not a single incident of "Out of memory";maybe something to do with VPN.By the way, is there anyway I can download older version of opera from safe place?

So everyone facing this 'out of memory' issue was using the VPN when it happened?
