Maybe the game uses a NPAPI plugin?

Can you open it it in Chrome?

I tried installing the latest flash version 22_0_0_209 for Opera but no luck and it worked fine using PPAPI in O38 so don't see why it wouldn't work in O39 Oh and I don't use Chrome so don't have it installed and I'm not going to install it just to see if a FB game will work or not only to uninstall when it doesn't work

What about Vivaldi or any other Chromium based browser?

But the plug-in that doesn't load is Flash?

Flash didn't load in O38 either PPAPI was being used not NPAPI....

Well I bit the bullet and installed chrome and guess what FB's slotomania works as do the local news story videos and didn't even have to install Adobe's Flash

Do you have Opera Turbo enabled by chance?

No I don't need to have it on as I have a 42Mbps connection so it's fast enough without

I've also tried changing the user agent to chrome (seeing as it worked fine in chrome) I also turned off the adblockers : Opera's inbuilt and uBlock to no avail

Oh and now I get the same message " Couldn't load Plag-in" when trying to open a PDF file now so something is seriously wrong with O39

It is unlikely to be a problem with Opera 39 as a whole as these issues seem to be specific to your machine.

Go to your profile folder (location can be found in About Opera) and rename it. Don't do this while Opera is running. Once renamed, start Opera. This will create a fresh profile. If everything works than something was borked in your profile. If everything is still broken then just close Opera, delete the new profile and rename the old one back to its original name to get back where you started.

Thanks Lando242 it turns out it was a borked profile and renaming the old one seems to have brought thing right

Glad to hear it. You can import your bookmarks file without too much worry but for things like extensions and settings I would install/configure them from scratch.
