Opera 12 and Opera 26

So I'm still using Opera 12, for reasons I'm suspect I don't need to explain (although note I don't use mail and can live without a lot of the extensions).
What I'd like to know is whether Opera 26 is looking like worth trying?
It claims to have bookmark import (I have a lot of bookmarks, I save all my research links there).
Note I really need my bookmarks sorted in my chosen order, a forced order would be a show-stopper.
I assume it will import all my saved passwords and sessions okay?
I have icons to do assorted things - Open in IE, Open in Chrome, Enable Plugins, Enable JavaScript, Search Site, Open Bookmarks, Open History, etc. Can I have these in 26?
What do people think?

You can only automatically sort bookmarks A>Z, or by manually dragging their tiles around in the bookmarks manager.
You can't automatically sort by date, for instance, as yet.
Custom buttons are still not supported, and I strongly fear that they never will be.

Thanks! A couple of follow-ups if I may...
Can I just have my bookmarks in the order they were in when I imported them?
Also can I have folders in my bookmark list?
Finally are there are any v12 users who recently succumbed and what do they think? -

How to sort bookmark alphabetically, Dave?
Select the Opera icon. then bookmarks, if you right click on the folders, there should be a "sort alphabetically" option.
Note that this will not be shown on any open bookmarks manager windows until they are re-loaded.
Personally I don't think that this is very intuitive, you should be able to automatically sort the entries directly in the bookmark manager windows.

Johnjust jumped from 12 to 26, not satisfied. No ctrl-z, no trash bin for recently closed pages, settings are a joke (example: search engine in speed dial page cannot be removed?). That's only basic stuff which should have been there because previous versions already had them and users were comfortable with them. Updates should add features not remove those that make your product better and distinguish it from your competitors. Opera was best for providing built-in stuff that other browsers (ie firefox) needed tweaking and extensions to provide them. Opera was best because it introduced tabbing, it had the magic wand, the trash bin and all that shitload of features that made it stand out and above the "same shit different brand name" competition. I understand that in need to lower the overall development costs they had to ditch their engine and leave the development to others with more resources (aka Google) but it's over a year now and this is basic stuff that's still missing. They end up alienating their old user base and target at what? New users? Casual users? Oh well.

So if I accidentally close a Page or a Window it's all gone - wow, that's dreadful...
Thanks.
I guess I'll stay with 12... I wish their last "proper" version (feature-wise, I'm not that fussed about the page rendering engine) wasn't a bit more solid. -

Nothing is gone, session can be reopend.
And if openopera://flags/#restore-contenteditables-state
in address bar and activating, you save you posts if xclosing Opera

Nah, they are still stored, you just can't see them anywhere. Thats a much requested feature so will probably see it someday again. Ctrl+Shirt+T will reopen tabs you've closed. Thats the standard shortcut for it on most browsers. Its the bookend to Ctrl+T for opening a new tab. Keep hitting it and it will keep reopening them. I don't know how many it stores but I just tested it and its at least a dozen.

No ctrl-z
Ctrl Z is there and like in the major softwares, is the default for "undo (last action)".
no trash bin for recently closed pages
Although i'm not against such option, i don't think it's something people use so often to worth the efforts to implement it.
search engine in speed dial page cannot be removed?
Yes, it can, but you need to enable (advanced) power user settings.

Thanks again for all the comments, although I'm not sure where it got me, I suspect 12 is the way to go for now and I'll wait and see...

You can only automatically sort bookmarks A>Z, or by manually dragging their tiles around in the bookmarks manager.
But if you have hundreds of bookmarks in X folders und subfolders, you go crazy when you have to click on every single folder. Opera 26 is still missing an autosort like opera 12.x (from A to Z, with folders and links sorted separately) or as an alternative an one-click-sort-erverything-including-subfolders-option.

From O-12 we badly miss earlier "Send Link by Mail" on a mouse right press menu, from a web page, for rapid transmission of its URL to the open "New Message" of my default e-mail program. All it required was adding the sender's address. As someone who frequently sends links, or other selected web material from web sites, O-26 seems to require 4 steps now: Copy URL, bring up E-mail program, select "New Message" and then Paste. Does anyone have a better answer for 26? Thomas

Try this Chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/share-link-via-email/ejdbkikfbnnhmachnnomjfgjbgkcnjkb?hl=en-GB
First you'll need to install the "Download Chrome Extension" to be able to install the extension above from the Chrome store.
