Will Opera Ever Support H.264 And MP3

I was wondering if Opera will ever support videos using H.264 (video) and MP3 (audio)? These are both supported by Chrome and IE. I only ask because there are some experiences that I need to change browsers to enjoy. I assume the audio ones are MP3, but I guess they could be AAC.

On a side note I noticed when I use My Browser option Opera scores 508, but when I select Opera 24 it has a score of 504.

Yes. Unless something unexpected happens you should see it working by default in Opera 25.
The source is the desktop team blog. E.g. http://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2014/09/bookmarks-arrive-opera-beta-25/

Awesome! That just made my day. And to think had I not quit using Opera Next, or Beta I would have known that already.

Really? I'm using the latest Beta build (25.0.1614.35) and the mp3 support is not working. When I drag and drop a .mp3 file into Opera it does nothing! Chrome automatically plays the file as soon as I drop it. I also have the following problems: "Google translate" has no voice, why I can not hear the sound on this page?.

Here it plays the file.
Do you have opera://flags/#proprietary-media-types-playback enabled? Also, which Windows do you use?

dinexi, that mp3 is playing for me in Opera 25. I didn't try in version 26, but I don't see why it shouldn't.

Plays fine here. Same build running on Win10 TP.

@leocg,where is the mp3 codec that Opera uses? It seems that Opera is having troubles finding it (at least for me). I even created a thread of this: https://forums.opera.com/topic/5759/opera-25-mp3-support/1.
