As I mentioned in your other post, https://forums.opera.com/topic/3933/to-opera-developers-please-listen-to-the-users/11,

your preferences are in settings, @rubinontheroad. You don't need a separate preferences setting. Everything in the settings menu, gives you the chance to set your prefences. And because there are less settings in Opera 22 than there were in Opera Presto, it would make no sense to have a separate preferences file. It would be foolish consistency with what was. On the menu issue, just press the alt key (or alt f), and you can open the menu. It's one key (or two). If you use a qwerty keyboard, your hands are practically sitting on the alt key. On font size, press 0 or 9 (with the advanced settings in play). It's simple to set the font size.

On the zoom feature, I found a Chrome extension you might like (if pressing the 0 -- or the + key -- or the 9 -- or the minus key -- is too much work), and you prefer something other than using the keyboard shortcuts. See https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/zoom/lajondecmobodlejlcjllhojikagldgd?hl=en It gives you a scrolling bar, for zooming, and more. To download a Chrome Extension, you do need the Opera Extension, Download Chrome extension https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/download-chrome-extension-9/?display=en Or Extension Source Viewer https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/extension-source-viewer?display=en You can install this, and if you don't like it, uninstall.

The resources for how to do the things you want, rubinontheroad, or to have totally simple workarounds, are out there.

I'm not sure what you mean by your dropdown menu is different than what you see in "help." If you press f1 you get the help menu. Now you say: " hardly anything that is mentioned in Opera's help, exists here on my PC, in front of me, with Opera 22.0.1471.70," Can you give an example of what is in help (which is gotten by pressing the f1 key on your keyboard), and is not in Opera 22? It would help to have an example, not a generalization.

Click the "Opera" button at the top left corner. You should find everything there, the zoom controls and entries to the other features and settings...

"Personalize fonts" is in the Websites section of the settings (opera://settings/fonts), scroll down and set a minimum font size.

I can't find that hard at all here... And a little searching could get you those answers... You're accessing the wrong help files (the ones for 12) that's for sure.

Zooming in any browser is done easily by holding the CTRL down while rolling the scroll wheel on your mouse.

Why are you reading the help file for Opera 12? Pressing F1 or choosing Help from the menu should display the help file for your version.

That's the problem. F1/help leads to a error page and when you click on the link on that page, it leads you to a page where Opera Blink is not listed.

You'll only see the help page for Opera Blink if you click on "learn more" while in the settings page.

No problem here. It takes me to http://help.opera.com/opera/Windows/1471/en/ normally.

I thank all who responded but it not helped at all. Again all the recommendations made do not help because none of what you are saying appears in my settings (reread my questions/comments)....(My drop down menu is different then what is shown in "help". I get no "preferences" after settings) What is hard to understand about that? ( There is no "zoom bar" on lower right, I can't even adjust size of font in browser only on web pages.) Again what I stated and what's missing is correct on my PC. This is an endless loop with folks telling me what items are in the Opera menu (upper left Opera button) do not exist, settings do not have the adjustments for browser font size or preferences after clicking on settings. It is like I'm in an alternative universe. Thanks but no thanks, maybe I'll try again at some point in the future but now it seems to be a waste of all our time. Will uninstall.............

                    Seriously????

                    What's hard about this?
                    Opera's main menu

If you can open a simple menu in Opera good luck getting your way in other browsers.

Someone must be using user agent switcher, I suppose.

User-Agent-Switcher doesn't change the Opera 22 menu, or if the poster presses F1 when he is in his Opera 22 browser, the help function that appears. Rubibontheroad seems to be looking at help menus for the Opera 12 browser, and then complaining that it doesn't apply to anything in Opera 22. Am I missing something here?

Opera's help site does use browser sniffing to route you to the right index page - or did in Opera 12. Of course in Opera 12 they had overrides to prevent you from hiding the user agent from Opera's own sites. I don't know whether they can override an extension ...

Ok, on Stable it seems to lead to the correct page but on Next and Developer it leads to http://help.opera.com/error/

I have an old laptop computer which still uses Windows XP Intel Centrino. I am trying to get up toolbars on the Start Page. I need to be able to have access to "File, Tools, Copy, Paste", etc...I have tried to look on Help and still can't seem to be able to do this function. What am I not seeing here. I am kind of technologically a newbie, so if anyone has a similar kind of computer, please tell me how to do this procedure STEP BY STEP.I have a recent download of Opera. Thanks.

If this all the functionality this browse has, it has a multitude of functionality problems. The first one I really notice is deleting browsing history on exit is not available, this is major. This is like drivinga stick shift car instead an automatic.

Well I would never drive an automatic car from choice, but that's my preference!
I do agree that the new versions of Opera should have the facility to clear the browsing history on exit though if that's what the user wants.
