I thank all who responded but it not helped at all. Again all the recommendations made do not help because none of what you are saying appears in my settings (reread my questions/comments)....(My drop down menu is different then what is shown in "help". I get no "preferences" after settings) What is hard to understand about that? ( There is no "zoom bar" on lower right, I can't even adjust size of font in browser only on web pages.) Again what I stated and what's missing is correct on my PC. This is an endless loop with folks telling me what items are in the Opera menu (upper left Opera button) do not exist, settings do not have the adjustments for browser font size or preferences after clicking on settings. It is like I'm in an alternative universe. Thanks but no thanks, maybe I'll try again at some point in the future but now it seems to be a waste of all our time. Will uninstall.............

I listened to paulmarkj and nod my head. I just posted "rubinontheroad" saying the same basic things that were never answered here. There is no "preferences after settings" even though all help and forum answers say there is. Settings in the dropdown of "Opera" leads to the same choices, first made upon starting with Opera, why is that so hard to understand. Help and forum help guide you to something that doesn't exist. I feel for paulmarkj and I've only been trying to change font size and set a menu bar. What no responses from someone who understands what we are seeing?

I just started using Opera, or am trying to. My drop down menu is different then what is shown in "help". I get no "preferences" after settings. I can't get a "menu bar" to see if there is a "preferences" there. There is no "zoom bar" on lower right, I can't even adjust size of font in browser only on web pages. I have/am using browsers IE, FF, Epic, Aviator, Palemoon, FF light etc. I know how to set up a browser but hardly anything that is mentioned in Opera's help, exists here on my PC, in front of me, with Opera 22.0.1471.70. I even uninstalled the latest version and tried to use an earlier version, same old, same old. I don't get frustrated to often with browser issues, but this is a new low/or high in frustration. I know this is a "free" browser and help is "catch as catch can" But this is ridiculous. I am running (or trying to) Opera on Win 7, which is up to date. I am not a total newbi but this is "beyond the pale". Help, respond with some workable suggestions or I'm out of here and Opera will always be a washout in my book. I know, big deal...S Rubin
