Dear community — forgive my incorrect choice of words, I don't know how these things are porperly called: When in some chat application within Opera, upon typing a en dash e.g., Opera opens a serch tabs window. Would anyone know how to avoid that? Thanks!

Hello, thanks! I found the section (it's Preferences > Shortcuts > Configure Shortcuts on my Opera). However, there is no shortcut configured Opt-[dash] or Opt-[dot]. Any idea where I might find those? Maybe they aren't consideret keyboard shortcuts but something else? Thanks again!

It sounds like Opera has a keyboard shortcut that opens the search tabs window when you type an en dash. You can try checking Opera’s settings under Keyboard shortcuts to see if there’s an option to change or disable it. Another workaround is to type the en dash (–) using Alt + 0150 (on Windows) or Option + - (on Mac) instead. Hope that helps!
