@leocg I appreciate your suggestions. I took the install on the thumb drive and tried it on my laptop, the same thing happened. Prior to doing so however, I used the Opera browser on the laptop to ensure it was working fine. I then proceeded to use the install on the drive and same thing happened there as did on my pc. I did send in several crash reports and included the less than 10 sec screen record on one of the reports. IDK how long it takes the powers that be to get back with you but hopefully soon. After over 20 years of Opera use it's just not the same on other browsers.

@leocg I am truly sorry to bother you again. I do have news. I went back uninstalled all traces. I then went and downloaded an older version of Opera. I left it go, and it ran fine. It asked me to close and update, but I chose to use it for a bit. I surfed and it was fine.. Then let it close and update, again, it was fine. I signed and fine again until.... I went to settings. As soon as I went to settings to sync my account boom it started the process of crashing. It was interesting to use the older version no issues then update and crash is back. Just thought I'd let you know.

I also experienced repeated crashes on startup with the recent update, launching OperaGX was causing cc_engine_x64.exe process to eat up all my memory, killing the task and uninstalling the garbage MSI software fixed the issue

@leocg how is that done? After one of the uninstalls it asked me if I wanted to delete my user data and I checked yes. If you could please tell me what/how to do that I will give it a go. It is most certainly a sign in issue/sync. I don't want to lose my bookmarks/speed dials/passwords. So can I delete data without the loss of that? I send a detailed report each time I crash. I can use the browser as long as I don't sign in. If you can tell me how to remove the data without losing my mentioned info I'll try that! Thank you so much!

@Alpha-Kiman Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone. I have found out that if you use the browser and do not sign in it does not crash. Which is OK if you just want to browse, but not OK if you need your bookmarks/speed dials/ passwords and such. I hope you sent a detailed crash report so that Opera can assist in this. I'm sure there's more people and those who just say forget it and go to another browser which is a huge loss for Opera

@Aeviterna I hope you too are reporting with as much info as you can. I have found that if you do not sign in it won't crash. I uninstalled, removed ALL traces of Opera. Did a fresh install and it was just fine. I browsed and nothing happened. I signed in and boom crash. I repeated this countless times and have come to find each time it's the sign in/sync that boots you off .. crash. Try what I did and see if you get the same results.

@leocg No. I didn't. I wasn't given an option to. I did however move the current Opera file with user data in it from my Windows directory to another drive prior to deleting it. So hopefully that created a backup. I did also have my browser synced with my phone and other devices. I was able to go into my phone and do an export of my favorites/bookmarks/bookmark bar/speed dial which was helpful and same for passwords. So I think I'm safe there. So now to the issue. How do I delete user data? Again I did do that on the original uninstall. So how should I now clear user data? If I sign in it's going to crash

@kathyb Considering that you seem to have saved most of your data, I guess you can go to sync.opera.com and click on the Reset Passphrase link to reset your synced data.
Let's see if it helps with the crashes.

@kathyb It sounds like the new Opera update is causing the issue. Try reinstalling Opera or clearing its cache. If that doesn't work, roll back to an older version for now. Glad other browsers are still working!
