The latest Chromium version for 118 should be 118.0.5993.54 or at least 118.0.5993.32 (released on September 28, 2023), no?

@kmielczarczyk All data will be lost and Opera will run in the same state as when it was first installed years ago. Only basic apps are installed. I had the same problem and managed to get back to the previous version by deleting and reinstalling my current Opera. However, because of the auto-update feature, if you close Opera and run it again, everything will disappear again. I thought it was just me. However, after visiting the forum, many people who have run the latest update are experiencing the same problem. I lost all my years of work. This is a very serious problem.

I am experiencing the same symptoms and have lost all my data for years. Many users on the forum are experiencing the same problem. All data is gone and it is in the same state as when Opera was first installed years ago. This is a very serious problem and needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

@kmielczarczyk This is happening for users that updated to 103.0.4928.16 also. See https://forums.opera.com/post/329157.
Strange though as migration (and using the "Default" folder by default) still seems to be disabled in 103.0.4928.16. I think in those cases, the presence of a Default.old or an empty Default folder (or a Default folder in the cache path) is still triggering buggy migration or something.
I personally had no issue with updating Opera Beta 103.0.4928.3 64-bit on Windows 11 22H2 to 104.0.4944.3. Everything was retained. 103.0.4928.3 was already using the "Default" folder by default in my case, so there was nothing to screw up I guess. Others though here that had an issue upgrading might have had some older profiles that have been through some stuff.

Just to clarify, if I fully uninstall Opera and delete all data, installing Opera fresh makes Opera create and use the "Default" folder by default. Just deleting the profile folder to have Opera create a new one doesn't do that and no "Default" folder will be created in that case.
