How do you turn Tab Islands off?
Never asked for them, didn't want them.
Was surprised when everything turned into Tab Islands! And, what's this garbage? Just to ask a question? JHC!

Is there a way to change the colour handles? There should be, these default colours are upsetting me.

@leocg: Could you suggest an answer to their question tho? I'm curious too since I've disabled tab islands in the settings, yet there is still a tab island in the bar...
I love Opera, but it kills me that every "update" I have to dig through settings to try and return the browser to the way it worked prior

@peteee
** jolp ** had the answer earlier... Worked for me..."I was experimenting the same confusion that most people here (If ain't broken, don't fix it!) and all I had to do was turning this complicated and unnecesary islands off and then access the opera://flags menu to get my scrolling bar back again."

How to don't use Tabs Islands? I prefer the traditional presentation.
If it's not possible, then I won't use Opera anymore... -

@leocg Thank you for your reply, but I've come to the conclusion that I asked the wrong question.
My question is: how can I go back to the old tab layout, independently of the tab islands? In the new tab layout, the tabs are so tightly packed that it's no longer possible to select one without error. -

The gods have heard my prayers! thank you! I am also one of those who have +100 tabs! I don't know if it does but I would like you to add a function so that the non-expanded tabs remain Inactive (that they are not loaded in memory or in the processor) until you expand "the island". It would also be nice if with a combination of keys you can switch tabs and show a reduced or full view of them, a similar way as "windows 10" does with the "alt+tab" keys but a little larger or full of the tab , this would add a little more fluidity and dynamics to the navigation between tabs, something similar to changing "Channels" on TV. It would also be nice if by pressing a key, it redirects you to a random tab (no fake)
Thanks again to the developers and the "ideas" channelers... Greetings from Argentina from a novice programmer and ideas channeler... among other things...hehe .. -

I just checked and some of the features I wanted are already implemented! but a little different, the preview of the tab is only available if you pass the mouse over it, it would be nice if it could also be handled by pressing keys like the advanced functions of the "1" and "2" keys, they could be added in a switch option between "preview" and "full screen" (as it is currently).
The option to suspend tabs outside the "current island" would also be missing.
And the button to go to a random tab... thanks anyway for the functions already implemented...
Greetings! -

@jolp I've done that for a while (in readiness for the return of tab scrolling), but it hasn't yet enabled scrolling. I'm using Linux. Please confirm your operating system and provide a screenshot.

@daleneurauter I keep what I said. You can disable automatic creation of tab islands and even get tabs scrolling back but you can change the layout.
