I checked the update today and tried to update it, but Opera just repeat the update process, but won't update at all.
The symptom is simple. The followings are the procedure:- Checked Update & Recovery
- Opera checked the new update and asked me to re-launch for update
- Re-launched it, but it stays with the old version -> Return to no. 2
- Infinite loop

Download the Opera installer, goto the URL
opera://about
, take note of the "install" path, close Opera, uninstall Opera (do not choose to delete your data when uninstalling), delete the install folder if it remains, launch the installer, click "options", uncheck "import data from default browser", adjust other options as you like and install. -

@jin8864y To update the opera, you need to enter the command in the terminal sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade, then the opera will be updated too.

@leocg I'm sorry, I didn't notice! Then you need to download the latest version of the opera from here https://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/desktop/101.0.4843.25/win / and update over the old version.

Try downloading the update and saving it locally, Then try installing it to verify that it does install (or doesn't) If it still seems to ignore the update,
maybe try rt-clicking on the update and try "Run as administrator", and see if that helps?
This is a GUI version similar to dmitriev81's suggestion to use Window's to use a Windows cmd window and run a version of 'sudo' (via some BASH-for or LINUX-for for Windows App, or a standalone version you've installed).Good luck!
