@rx1fofo The extension says it supports:
Kaspersky Protection extension is intended to be used together with the following Kaspersky applications: Kaspersky Free, Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Kaspersky Internet Security, Kaspersky Total Security, Kaspersky Security Cloud, and Kaspersky Small Office Security.
Try finding the name of the exact one you have.

@rx1fofo That's all it says at "Settings -> Apps -> Installed Apps" in Windows? Same thing in Start -> All Apps?
Anyway, I'll test the extension with https://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/free-antivirus to see if the extension can communicate with it in Opera GX properly.

@rx1fofo Even if https://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/free-antivirus is not the one you have (all the others have free trials but require a credit card even for the trial), it was good enough for me to test the extension in Opera.
I get the same results as you. The extension does work in Opera (GX, regular Opera, Opera Beta, and Opera Developer) on Win 11 22H2 for me. The extension's use of the Chromium Native Messaging API is not working to connect to the Kaskpersky Native Messaging host. I'm not sure of the exact reasons why in this case. Native Messaging has worked in the past in Opera for some extension and programs.
The extension works fine in Chrome and Firefox for me though.

I filed bug DNA-106772 for this issue. In my testing, it seems like Opera things the extension is corrupted, which might be the main reason why the extension can't communication with the Kaspersky program.

Kaspersky doesn't support Opera. Even if you manage to install the extension, it won't work.

Kaspersky only supports Edge, Chrome and Firefox. -

@david27
I have more than once had Kaspersky interrupt loading a dodgy page on Opera. Really that's all I need.However it's true it doesn't have the full functionality it does on Firefox. That is, to report bad sites etc.

@passenger-chi Good to know. Maybe it still analyzes all web traffic, it just doesn't show the Kaspersky logo on search results.

@passenger-chi very sad that many years passed and they still didnt do anything about it. I have paid kaspersky VPN and there is no add-on for OPERA GX to make it work just in my browser without changing things in my notwork. I know split tunneling exists, but its not the same.
