@amishachar That instruction is to install the extension, not to update it. The instructions to update, if the automatic one fails, is on the box.

For a one man crew, This works amazingly well. When I first saw it, I immediately thought it was a scam to get your information. But then I daringly added it with the back up plan of immediately changing my password should anything go awry. Now I can't use FB without it. I wish there was a version for the mobile version of FB. This is my first time using it on Opera. Hopefully it works just as well as it does on Firefox, Brave and Chrome.

FBP suddenly stopped functioning on my FB page yesterday. Every other post is an ad.
I am really open to suggestions! It is hellish.

@thenance Try using Social Fixer instead. With it you are able to add words in posts that will hide special posts. I added "sponsored by" which zaps most of the ads. I also use AdBlocker for Facebook. Between the two, I never see an ad.

@cybergata thanks, this app seems to have hidden the ads successfully. Until FB (again) figures out how to dodge it.

Every time there is an update, I start getting inundated with sponsored ads in my feed again. It usually takes weeks for it to start filtering them properly again after each update.

@st333v: update: opera can now install chrome extensions directly i believe, you may need to enable an option in opera the first time you try and install a chrome extension

This is normally a really solid plugin that reliably blocks ads. However it hasn't been blocking the Sponsored ads in the Facebook news feed recently. For an add-on that's working, try this other add-on instead

This is hands-down the best fixer/remixer/blocker app I've ever used. I don't have a lot, but I try to donate monies to the developer's cause. His crusade against Zuckerberggaslighting is 2nd to none!!! FBP is literally the ONLY reason I'll keep checking this site for friends/family. Otherwise I would've completely left years ago.
