I would like to point out that it used to work in Opera (playing in the background, i.e. with the screen off), and it has stopped for some time. It always works on chrome. It seems to me that youtube changed something or blocked background playback, but on the other hand, this theory doesn't make sense, because chrome and youtube are one family ... it's just that something has changed, chrome has adjusted the changes, and Opera has not . Please take a look at the address after changing to the stationary mode and compare them. The beginning of ".m" disappears from chrome and "desktop" appears next to the address. Nothing changes in the address in Opera.

@adam1709 If YouTube is sending Opera a different link/page, all Opera can do is to try to convince them to send the same information they send to Chrome or other browsers. If that fail, Opera can try to implement some workaround but it should always be the last option since it may break pages.

@leocg: I checked how it works on Facebook and no problem - I don't even have to turn on the desktop mode.
