60.0.3255.84 causes (0xc0000022) error.

DrNostromo last edited by DrNostromoThe latest version of Opera - 60.0.3255.84 causes, "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022)." I run Win 7 - 64 bit
All attempts to uninstall and reinstall failed. I finally went back to version 60.0.3255.83 and everything runs fine. However, it's going to auto-update so as soon as I shut it down and try to restart it, it's going to fail again.
Can't I turn off auto-update until a more stable version is available?

Thank you so much. I haven't closed the browser for fear of another crash and I've found that even though it's still running, trying to open an html file from my HD or from my html text editor is already causing the error so obviously the browser has updated.
I'll go back and reinstall .83 and turn autoupdate off.

As soon as Opera launches after installing, close it as fast as you can. Then, open the Windows task manager and kill the updater if it's shown. Then, rename the auto updater exe in the version folder in Opera's program files folder.

Taking into account that there are one by one crashes in Stable releases, it's necessary to implement optional autoupdate module in Settings(like in FireFox), Instead of removing/renaming .exe every time. It was requested many times, anyway.

You can run installer with --launchopera=0 switch and later start Opera with --disable-update.
@DrNostromo do you have any AV that could affect this particular build? Do you have installed all latest system updates?
