I am still getting Speed Dial suggestions (booking.com) even though they are turned off!

This is not acceptable especially for a browser with a build in adblocker! This intrusive stuff is exactly why a lot of people think bad about Opera and would rather stay away. Please stop this nonsense!
(latest Opera Dev version). -

I opened Opera and the Speed Dial and saw a big icon for Booking, com in the middle. I did not add it and I have Opera set not to make suggestions; in any case I haven't looked at Booking.com for months. So how did it get there? Is Opera using the Speed dial as an advertising platform? Are we likely to see a variety of unauthorized and unwanted entries showing up?

Why is Opera lately adding new thumbs to my quick access? When I open Opera I see links to new websites that I didn't add, like today I got Booking.com but sometimes it's other sites.
It's getting annoying. Also I just noticed that I had to accept information tracking and accpept to be sent e-mails. What type of community forces users to that? I think it's time to say Opera good bye.

Just created a post about the same problem. https://forums.opera.com/topic/32128/opera-changing-my-quick-access-links
Also Booking.com showed up. I know Opera adds a lot of spam quick access links once you install it, but I don't see why they coming back once removed. Specially when the links they add have tracking information. -

@leocg My Opera is in Spanish, but I guess that's the 4th option here. It's disabled so... Unless it's an option somewhere else.
That would translate as "Show recommendations for Speed Dials" not sure if that's the same.

@leocg That's the Settings section related with the Start page. Where else should I look for it?
I changed my Opera to English and search for "Promote" and nothing comes up
Also searching for Speed dial only this shows.

@miblog what opera version it is? 58?
You can try going to flags (opera://flags) and make sure that the 'Partner bookmarks opt-out option' flag is set to default[E]. It makes 'Promoted bookmarks' toggle visible in Settings.
Or you cant try with a clean profile. -

@andrew84 I'm using Opera 55.0.299461
In this version there is no 'Partner bookmarks opt-out option' flag. I guess I will have to update Opera. And still not sure if that would fix it, but I guess I will try.
Also don't like this way of advertisement, so I may ditch Opera in general. It's a shame they do this. -

@miblog Yes, the 55 version is definitely missing that option(in updated version there's no need going to flags, that toggle is visible in Settings by default).

Thanks a lot. Updating to version 60 worked. Now I have that option disabled.

Got this today while launching my opera, even with all the stuff deactivated, nice example of abuse regarding private life.
So no matter what you do in settings, you will still get this. -
