I've used it many times and never found any limitation, even watching some video streaming during a couple of hours.
Just, the speed may vary - don't know if because the hour or the users or what - I've watched streaming at "Auto - 800Kbps" and others at "Auto - 3000Kbps", but don't know the cause.
Depending on the browsing would be enough.

I believe that the issue is with Opera itself; the latest update is unstable; causing Opera to crash, and periodically causing Windows 10 to spontaneously reboot.

@yekcimm: I'm using Windows 7 and Opera Browser is doing the same thing crashing periodically. . .VPN not connecting; whereas, I never had a problem until this latest update to Version 49.0.

use browsec doesn't slowdown / limit your bandwidth. as for the built in vnp sporadic is an understatement. the vpn is now also prone to crash opera now.

The only reason I use Opera was the VPN, now that the Republican Congress has allowed ISP's to sell my personal web-surfing information without my permission; the VPN prevents that egregeous practice. When I first started using Opera about 10 months ago the VPN was amazingly fast and Opera was completely stable. The problems began with the most recent Opera update, therefore, it's not the VPN; OPERA is now unstable.

@yekcimm : I couldn't agree more with you. I, too, use Opera for the VPN, to enhance privacy on the web. And this latest update to Opera has created a lot of problems.
Two years ago, or 2015 to be exact, SurfSafe was part of the Opera Family. Two years later, SurfSafe is no longer owned by Opera, from an email I received from SurfSafe November 24/17.
Why hasn't Opera made the announcement the SurfSafe is no longer owned by Opera. And when the the separation take place? What's going on with this?

@xirit32 : Thank you for this information. If SurfEasy is no owned by Opera, who providing the VPN in Opera Browser. I'm a little confused on all of this. Could this be the reason behind why we're experiencing problems with the VPN?

Looks like we have the Chinese to thank for blowing a hole in Opera; maybe the backdoor they put in is causing the crashes

If (note: IF) a problem exists in the Opera's VPN interfacing, it's hardly likely to be the result of Chinese interference or intrigue. The browser is still being developed by essentially the same people that worked on it before the Chinese bought the operation, and I trust the developers' personal integrity to put out word if such interference ever did occur. Most likely, the problem simply lies somewhere between or with Opera and SurfEasy.

Given that the problem occured after the last update; I'm betting the problem is in Opera.

@browzer1 I have found that simply closing Opera and re-openning it allows the VPN to make connection (sometimes you need to repeat a few times). I have also found that selecting a specific (not Optimal) VPN server is enough to get it to connect, then selecting Optimal and it stays connected. I was just connected to the VPN at the same time you said you couldn't connect. There is clearly something wrong with the most recent Opera update.

In ODev version works mostly fine, just one Off/On toggle.
