No matter what site I try to go to the VPN badge remains orange, and when clicked it reads "Connecting", but it never connects. Has SurfEasy been down?

The VPN is set to "Optimal Location"

UPDATE: Tried selecting a specific server, still no connection. Turned the VPN off, then on and it connected to the specific server. Re-selected "Optimal Location" and it stayed connected. I suspect that simply toggling the VPN off/on would have worked to connect. So the question now is why does Opera sporadically fail to connect to the VPN when initially launched?

I would add that even when the VPN makes connection, it's sluggish (delayed in connecting).
