You can also try for the following: go to Settings > Websites and make sure that the "Plugins" section has "Run all plug-in content" enabled. Please let us know if it helped in any way?

O I am also getting "couldn't load plugin".
Uninstall Flash PPAPI plugin 23.0.0.162 from Control Panel.
Download Flash PPAPI plugin 22.0.0.209That is not the problem. As I have set my Flash to be updated manually, so I had not upgraded to the new one.
But I have some similar issues with videos on Twitter (but that started some months ago). I put this down to the fact I am using Windows XP. My opera version is 36.0.2130.80 (at it says it is up to date).

I had the same problem, I'm also using Vista Home Premium and Flash player was not working in Opera 36, or Pale Moon. Yandex did work for me though. (I'm very impressed with Yandex most of the time).
Definitely seems like a problem limited to Flash 23 and Vista and XP. It's also being discussed on Adobe forum.

I used the link in the Adobe thread to get Flash 22, seems to have worked for me. (note: there is a typo in the link above, here is how it should look-

Twitter uses html5, not Flash.

Yep, that's it. Opera depends on the OS to play some media codecs and XP doesn't natively supports them so Opera can't play them.

I was having problems playing video reviews on Amazon - the videos would stop after a minute or two with an indefinite playback error - so I decided to follow the advice in this thread: installed latest Flash, enabled the run all content for plugins option, and now the problem is even worse. Now there's no play/arrow button on any of the videos, so I can't even start playing them now.
