Or install some regular adblock extension like ublock origin

On Firefox, I have uBlock Origin installed. But wouldn't Opera's speed be hampered by downloading an adblocker extension, as opposed to just subscribing to the text file you helpfully linked to?

I do not know what is different between the 2 lists you mention.

I don't know much, but I do know that the Adblock Killer list/textfile is better with at least two websites. 🙂

Hi @hobgoblina,

Try installing opera-ffmpeg-codecs ( https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/opera-ffmpeg-codecs/ ). This should give you some proprietary video codecs that can be used to display eg. H264-encoded video content.

I think this is the problem:

Weird. Provided that you do have both repos (opera's and dmo) available, a

apt-get install opera-stable flashplayer-chromium

would be enough.

It looks like the URL is opera://startpage/news but I can't for the life of me figure out how to set that as my start page. I think perhaps opera has removed the ability to set a start page (Grr). I've tried several extensions to no avail. If anyone knows a way to do this (i'm using Opera 45)

It does not show images by default on Windows. I use the Ctrl+B shortcut to add pages to Speed Dial. The behaviour on Unix may be different.

There is currently no way to add open tabs to bookmarks without first saving them to Speed Dial and then moving them to bookmarks manually. I have seen several users request it, and I would like to see it too.
