I got my problem solved by simply going to SETTINGS | COOKIES | All cookies and site data...| and removed all facebook and tomoson cookies, restarted the browser and was finally able to log in.

What desktop to you use? On KDE4 there is a global "Mouse wheel scrolls by X lines" setting in System Settings > Input Devices > Mouse > Advanced. I also have a HiDPI screen and found increasing this from the default helped in all programs.

I don't see a similar setting in XFCE's mouse controls, though, and I'm don't have any other DEs installed to check.

I have same issue. I am running Linux Mint and a light grey bar with only slightly darker light grey text. Any insight on how to change this would be appreciated.

Has earned without use of a proxy, vpn and Opera Turbo. The websites open.
Все заработало. Без обновления браузера. Значит была проблема на стороне opera.

on ubuntu in an attempt to start clean I renamed dir

mv ~/.config ~/.config~priorart

yet this was no help - opera-developer --version 41.0.2349.0
continues to crash without doing anything very 20 seconds or so

VPN on Opera is still very erratic. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I have and use two versions of Opera. Opera 40.0.2308.81 and Opera Dev 42.0.2372.0

Opera Dev 42 used to run VPN very well most if the time but now it has been down for a few days.
While Opera 40 is running VPN well right now today but most of the time VPN does not work on this Opera version. Yesterday VPN was not working at all with Opera 40.

When you turn on VPN on either Opera version and it's not working, no sites can be reached. You just see Opera attempting to reach those sites but never does as it shows those sites 'loading' but never connecting with them.

Very frustrating.
Opera seems to ot be saving extensions after restart

Since Opera 15, it's based on chromium, i.e. a re-write. That's why many features are gone.
I can not go on (https://forums.opera.com/help, http://www.opera.com/ru/help/account) in Opera 40
