if you click on the little drop down menu in the far top right corner do you see recently closed tabs show up?
Just opening one tab of the following sites takes CPU to 99-100%.

not for me, i'm on developer version 41 , those sites open ok, activity monitor bumps to 38% initially then drops down to 3%
Opera inserts single zero-width white space character when focusing on text inputs/textareas.

The basic element hiding rules listed here - https://adblockplus.org/filters#elemhide_basic seem to work. With the exception of tags. If a tag such as div is specified then the rule stops working.

I have converted my custom filters to remove all tags.

There is virtually no documentation about this anywhere. Not even in the release notes! It would be great if a manual for the general syntax is specified online somewhere for advanced users. Users who are unaware might just port their ABP custom filters, hoping that they would work. An online conversion facility to transform filters in other syntax to Opera syntax would also be useful.

One surefire method to stop automatic updates is to remove execute permissions from Opera's opera_autoupdate executable. This prevents Opera from ever checking for updates. Run this command in a Terminal window.
chmod a-x /Applications/Opera.app/Contents/MacOS/opera_autoupdate
Restore update checking with this command:
chmod a+x /Applications/Opera.app/Contents/MacOS/opera_autoupdate

Hi,
I've found a solution tested.
Download the .Rar or .Zip file, extract the folder inside.
Go to Opera Extensions, Developer Mode > Load Unpacked Extension > Go to the folder extracted and that's it

opera://settings/ > User Interface > "Enable the search popup on selecting text"

I will explain that on an example (bbc.com search)
Go to bbc.com Type 'test' in the search box Address field result is (http://www.bbc.co.uk/search?q=test) Replace 'test' with '%s' (http://www.bbc.co.uk/search?q=%s) and copy to clipboard Now go to Preferences and press 'Manage search engines' -> 'Add new search' button Paste 'http://www.bbc.co.uk/search?q=%s' into "Address" field Chose "Name" and "Keyword" for your new search Click 'Save' button

Hi,

when you press synchronisation button on the right, type your credentials and then select 'Choose what to synchronise' link. There will be 'Bookmarks' on the checklist visible on 'Advanced Synchronisation Settings' window.

Are those crashes happen on Youtube videos or some other sites? And is it YT full screen or browser option?

If you can put this command in your Terminal:
export OPERA_CRASH_EMAIL=username@opera.com

and tell me what email you put there (it does not have to be your email, just some email address that let me find you in out Crashlog Analysis Tool) that would be very helpful.
