That's correct I'm afraid, Dragonfly was replaced in the versions of Opera from 15 onwards, in favour of its Chrome equivalent.
Sadly I doubt that it will ever return.

Hmm... it solved the exact same problem for me in Opera 12.14. After making the "masking" change, did you reload the site page or restart the browser to clear any old settings/site-cookies? Otherwise, I'm not sure what is happening for you... I suppose it's always possible something in the 12.15-12.17 series of updates boggled things such that 12.17 doesn't work with changes VirusTotal may have made to their site code - but I wasn't aware of any version change-notes that should have impacted things to this extent.

First--I admire and appreciate those whose computering knowledge is 'solid' in The Registry.

In one of my Test Machines, I have Opera 12.17 as my default...then I have installed '24', Chrome, Firefox, Safari...and, naturally, I.E.

When I right click on 'Open with...' they ALL just, simply, show in the list. The 'Opera' in the list will be '24'. Interestingly, Chrome shows on the list twice, but either works fine.

Maybe I just hold my mouse right, I dunno... but that's how it goes here, and I've done so many tests it appears to me that 12.17 will always remain my Book Mark Manager/Holder...as well as traffic cop to whatever other browser I can so easily 'move to'.... for my Two PINTHEA URLs.

After reading the comments here, I digged deeper and found the problem. Somehow, HTTPS everywhere is the culptrit. That extension cause no problem on FF or chrome, but it is the cause of the problem in opera.

Thanks for the replies. I thought I had already done a test with all the extensions disabled, but I must have missed HTTPS everywhere.

Looking in Opera Preferences -> Advanced -> Security
Manage Certificates...
I have a lot of *.facebook.com rejected certificates: around 60 or 70!

Now you know Opera has rejected by user interaction such bad certificates.

Is it possible that every time a somehow different certificate is issued? (even when being on the same page).

Yes, your company's security software appliance may cause such problems.

That's normal behaviour if Opera is the default browser.
If you need to change them, the easiest way is to make something else the default browser (Internet Explorer probably if you're on Windows) and you should then find you can edit those options manually. Once you've done that, making Opera the default browser again will put them back to as they were before, so leave them as they are and un-check the option to prompt if Opera is not the default browser. You will probably have to do the same thing on Internet Explorer.

I always use my browser maximized. I did not switch to the embedded buttons mode myself.Hovering at the top did not make any difference.

Hi @snotspat: you can try the "Select like a Boss" extension, or "Fine Link Selector - to instal this one, you need first install one of the following extensions: "Extension source viewer", or "Download Chrome Extension" \m/ ☕

@molngab, if you're asking about the risk of "wearing out" the SSD cells by frequent file writing, if you have a reasonably modern SSD, the answer would be "virtually none". Given the math involved, the odds are much higher that you will obsolete your system long before the SSD reaches end-of-life.

I can confirm that Netflix does not work in 25 beta.

I decided to give Opera another go this weekend and, yep, no Netflix. Bummer. Back to Chrome. I'll look in again in a couple of months.
