After a little more testing I found it only does this if you use the keyboard shortcut. Weird. So, if I have "w chicken" in my clipboard or I have "w " already in the address bar and "chicken" in my clipboard and I right click the address bar and click "Paste and Search" (which has CTRL+B next to it in the menu) it will take me to the wikipedia page for chicken. Interestingly, if I have "w chicken" in my clipboard and I just type Ctrl+B it does a google search for "w chicken". It seems the keyboard shortcut doesn't share the same functionality as the mouse right click menu and just passes whatever is in the clipboard directly to your default search engine, ignoring whats in the address bar or your other search engines completely.
Why can't I remove/rebind default search engines?

There is no need to uninstall Opera 12, it can live together with Opera 25+ without problems. As said, just install it in a different folder if you don't want their files to be together in the same folder.
Craigslist broken on Opera 12.xx? Just me?

You may all check to see if 'Opera Turbo' has been enabled in 'Settings / Preferences... / Web pages' and try disabling it, as that can sometimes cause problems with certain sites.

Been working OK until last night.

Something particular happened then?

This site also seems a bit slow (hence the double post) but most sites load OK.

Only certain sites or is it a bit random?
(This site happens a bit slow - e.g., an issue with "infinite load" (see "feedback").)

As background, a jpg file is the very same file as a jpeg file, except that it is simply named with a different (shortened) file extension. This only matters to some programs using the file, not to the file or what's in it. Originally, the DOS 8.3 file-name structure could only support 3-letter filename extensions; newer OS's support 4-letter. JPEG stands for the Joint Photographic Experts Group who developed the "lossy" file format, but that was shortened to JPG in the old days to support the DOS naming standard.

If you can save a jpeg file as a jpg file, most software (but not all, especially with a Mac) will recognize and use it perfectly, just as if it was named as a jpeg file. Certain newer software may specifically seek the jpeg extension, since the longer file extensions are now becoming more commonly used. The best thing to do is try it out and see what happens. As to why Opera doesn't offer to save in jpeg format is for its developers to say.

I can confirm to that.

Youtube, flash based movies on tubmlr.com, androidnext.de, heise.de feel like a dia-show when played in fullscreen.
If I use chrome with the same URL the video plays normal.

You can even feel the lag on facebook playing a game. Once it is fullscreen, there is a visible lag in most animations. If you have a page full of flash-ads (happens quite often, if you don't use an ad-blocker) it like the animations are "stuttering". If you open the same page in Chrome, they are displayed fluidly.

I especially miss one bookmark feature; 'open all elements in folder', which opens all elements in a subfolder under bookmarks. (Main reason for still using series 12 Opera)!

Easy to do, though you have to right-click on the folder in the menu. Try it.

Another solution is to install the Opera/Firefox/Chrome extension called "YouTube Center". It allows you to modify and use either Flash or HTML5 to view videos. As well as control, if the DASH support gets activated which causes your videos to refresh when you move the scroll to fast foward or rewind. You can even set default resolution and size the video loads up when you visit a video's site.
