Well, you're right. I had it set though by having already disabled the Chrome PDF viewer in opera:plugins. So I was surprised when it started Acrobat. I liked that Opera never started an outside program. Anyway, I'll use the builtin viewer and download when needed.

Opera starting Acrobat unpromptedOpera for Windows
In Opera 43.0.2442.806 (PGO), if I turn on "Open PDF files in the default PDF viewer application" in Settings, Acrobat automatically starts with the downloaded file when clicking a PDF link. I think that is less secure than starting it explicitly.

Sudden ad in Speed DialOpera for Windows
I saved the tabs in a speed dial folder, when I removed it suddenly a new item appeared in the speed dial from Aliexpress (aliexpress.com). This felt rather intrusive. Was it a mistake or was it policy?
This is with latest Opera 39.

Duh!Opera for Windows
It just occured to me that internal pages in New Opera such as Settings and History are web pages. So you can put them in the Speed Dial! Why didn't I think of that before. I also would like to be able to have even smaller icons in the speed dial.

More powerful bookmark navigationSuggestions and feature requests

There is an overlap between Speed Dial and Bookmarks. Chuck the Speed Dial and let it be one of the top-level Bookmark folders. Add a radio-button like thingie to choose which of the folders is the speed dial.

Add a right-click menu to the heart icon in the tool bar. Let it open one of the top-level bookmark folders. Note only top-level folders.
Now you have more powerful navigation. You can choose speed dial (this is optional) and you can go to anything in the Speed Dial with two clicks - Click, Click - like before. With Right-Click, Drag, Release, Click you can go to anything in any top-level folder. This is more powerful navigation.
In general, multi-level menus are not good UI-wise, so it's good to have a single level menu and then to choose in the Bookmark display.

RE: Can't disable ClearType - killing my eyesOpera for Windows
Go to opera://flags/#disable-direct-write and either Disable or Enable, I forget which, I think it is the latter. Then restart the browser.

Annoying hover message in 26.0.1656.24Opera for Windows
When hovering over a link the url is displayed in the lower left corner. If you hover, then click the link, then go back the first page again, this url gets "stuck" in the tab. If you hover over something else and then go to a neutral area, it comes back.
