Opera Mail doesn't support all the modern security and encryption protocols that sites/certs use now, so you're going to get those prompts. You can switch to the "Security" tab in those "prompts", check "Remember" and click "approve" to avoid getting them again. Then, you'll have to test that your pop connection still works though.
@johnlowrie Got rid of it in the end, for a while. There was an X to click but it was obscured as it corresponded with a small black part of my background image.
