  Opera Presto haven't gotten any update since 2013 and it won't get anymore. It wil get older and older with more and more problems. You should try the new version.

  I am sure it has to be something wrong with his install that's causing the problem. Opera 12 still works just fine, except for a really small minuscule number of websites. No need get carried away and switch to new opera if he don't want to. There are plenty threads about issues with new opera too

  That issues with the new one can be fixed.

  Turbo also breaks internet access for me when behind a corporate firewall. I mention it in case this helps someone with the same "proxy not responding" error I was getting.

  Press the ctrl key when left clicking on the link for a new background tab (middle clicking creates a new background tab also)

  ctrl shift when clicking on the link for a new foreground tab (shift middle click also works).

  For extensions to try, here's an Opera extension, Open New Tab.

  You were trying to use Opera Presto's cookie file with Opera Blink, that's why it wasn't working.

  To use your old cookies in new Opera you need to import your data from the old one.

  OK changed default browser to Chrome & It works ! Meanwhile on another profile it works with opera as default browser ? We prefer the simple approach Opera mail delivers compared to complicated crap at goggle mail

  I use Microsoft Security Essentials under Windows 7, if that is relevant.

  Everyone should copy their Opera profile (which includes the bookmarks folder) to another location on their computer, preferable an external drive. (flash drives are great). For Opera 28, just click on the Opera Menu and then click on About Opera to find the location of your profile.

  In Opera 12, the location is in the Help menu, and then About Opera.

  With that profile, saved periodically to an external drive, there would rarely if ever be a panicked "lost bookmarks" query. I'm assuming, though, @gcatsailor that you're asking the question because you didn't.

  That's possible. There are sites/services that behave like that - Google, Vimeo, name it.
