@leocg Well, it is indeed my interpretation and the interpretation of many others' too 🙂

A tab is not only a control element of a GUI, but it's also a container for – in case of a web browser – the page and its properties, like: it's back and forward history, per tab zoom, etc.

That's why I added this suggestion.

Thank you for restoring the old behaviour! We can now open a new tab and choose a page from the Speed Dial.

This reminds me a blog post of one of Opera employees on the My Opera portal, back in the days, about the alternative revenue streams for reimplementing functions removed from the browser. 🙂

Thanks for reporting. It seems to be browser-specific, as I can't reproduce on Opera v20 (Mac), but i can reproduce on Opera v12.16 (Linux). I've added this issue to our bug tracking system.
