Go to Settings and choose Opera to continue from where you left off, instead of opening Start Page. By choosing that option, Opera will open any pinned tabs that were pinned when you left the browser (and it will also open any normal tabs that were open when you quit the browser).

RE: URL History arrow missingOpera for Windows
When Opera moved from Presto (their own engine) to Blink (Chromium's engine), the browser was rewritten from scratch. More info here, specially:
"When we took the decision to switch to Chromium, compatibility was one reason — but most importantly, we wanted to spend our time on browser innovation, rather than competing on building a rendering engine. We had a deep look at Opera’s internal architecture and it soon became clear that Quick, the cross-platform UI framework we’d introduced back in 2003, was so entangled with Presto’s code that just swapping Presto with Chromium was far from a straightforward task."

RE: We need a poll, to allow the devs to better understand the expectations of their users.Opera for Windows
Opera Devs have been relying on info voluntarily provided anonymously by (some of) its users to improve its browser. That was one of the reasons why bookmarks were not implemented in Opera 15, as you can find here: http://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2013/07/ctrl-z-of-ctrl-d/
"Since 2007 we’ve been asking randomly-selected people if we could anonymously collect information from their Opera install (via opera:config#UserPrefs|EnableUsageStatistics) so we could see the features they use. Some of these users have volunteered to give us this data since 2007.
Based on the group of 100,000+ users, we saw that more than 90% of our users never actually added a single bookmark to the ones shipped with Opera."
However, Opera developers have indeed been creating surveys to better understand the users' needs, like this one and this one about tabs.
Hopefully, Opera Software will continue on listening to their user base feedback and improve their products not only, but also according to the feedback provided.

RE: How to delete speed dialOpera for Windows
Sorry to inform you, but with Opera's move to webkit last year, the browser was rewritten from scratch and several features were not (yet) implemented.
- It's not possible to delete Speed Dial.
- opera:settings is all there is. You may, however, activate Power User Settings, by entering the Konami code in the settings menu (↑↑↓↓←→←→BA [notice: you might want to remove focus from the search field before entering this code]), which will make a few more settings available, but nothing compared to the good old opera:config.
- You have Google Search on Speed Dial, other than that you have to search using the address bar (a.k.a. omnibar).
- Skins were replaced by themes. Check opera:themes and https://addons.opera.com/themes/ . Themes are basically background images. It won't change the browser's skin.
So... yeah. What you want is Opera Presto.
P.s.: I believe leushino does not work for Opera Software and neither do I.

RE: Also a real bookmarks menu would be nice.Opera for Windows
Meanwhile, you might want to check this thread: https://forums.opera.com/topic/4350/rip-stash-and-long-live-bookmarks
Opera 25, currently in alpha stream, brings an experimental bookmarks menu. It can (and will) be improved, but it's definitely a solid foundation for the future.

Keep in mind that Opera Presto will not receive content updates, only security updates, if needed.

RE: how do i remove the google search bar from the speed dial?Opera for Windows
You can simply right click on the search field of the search engines you want to add and choose "Create Search Engine". You can then add a keyword to that search engine. If you do that, the URL should be correct by default.

RE: Opera 23 Tools Menu MissingOpera for Mac
On Mac, simply go to View -> Show Extensions (or press Shift ⇧ + Command ⌘ + E). This will show you a list of all your extensions. You can then disable the extension or completely remove it (by pressing the cross on the upper right corner).

RE: General ChatLounge
(rafael in another thread)
Trying to learn German. Not the wisest idea.
Maybe I could help with some advice or like that.
I used to learn it as a second foreign language.Hello!
I am following this course and also practicing on Memrise and Duolingo.
Being Portuguese and all, I'm used to a difficult grammar and having studied Na'vi for fun I'm also used to the cases. At the moment, my main issue with German is... the exceptions. Why do they exist? It would be a lot simpler if they didn't.

RE: Opera does not work with Baboom.comOpera for Windows
Hello,
I don't really have access to Baboom, so I've only managed to try the demo here.
If I press 'Play' to hear any of the songs presented there, the songs play as intended (using Opera 23 on both Windows and Mac).

RE: how do i remove the google search bar from the speed dial?Opera for Windows
Go to Settings (Opera -> Settings or type opera:settings in the address bar). Remove the focus from the search field and enter the konami code in your keyboard: ↑↑↓↓←→←→BA
This will enable Power User Settings, which will make it possible to remove the search bar in Speed Dial.

RE: Reload Every Does not work anymore on my new laptop in windows 8Opera for Windows
Latest version for Windows is Opera 12.17 (based on Presto). This version contains security patches, so I advise you to update your browser to 12.17.
Meanwhile, keep an eye on Opera Blogs. Opera is building a new browser based on Chromium/Blink, and Opera 12 will receive no more updates (other than security updates eventually). New functionality will be announced in the blogs. If the option to reload a page automatically is implemented again, you'll read it there.
Happy browsing!

RE: Reload Every Does not work anymore on my new laptop in windows 8Opera for Windows
Hello,
that option comes by default in Opera 12. Last June, Opera has moved from Presto engine to Blink, and new Opera, which was written from scratch, does not have that option available.
Could you go to Opera -> About and check your Opera version?
If it's Opera 15+ (latest version is 23), please check this list of extensions to integrate such behaviour in your browser: https://addons.opera.com/pt/search/?query=reload+every
If it's Opera 12, there's probably something wrong as you should have that option. Please provide us feedback on your version if you need further help.

RE: New Opera hopelessly many pop upsOpera for Windows
Have you downloaded Opera from www.opera.com? If you didn't, you could have downloaded adware instead.
Download AdwCleaner and run the software. When this scan is finished, a document (report) will open on Notepad. Close Notepad.
Click "Delete" on AdwCleaner. Restart your computer.
Upon restart, you'll see a new document (report) on Notepad. Close it.
Relaunch Opera and check if Opera is still opening pop-ups.
You can also install one of these AdBlockers:
- https://addons.opera.com/pt/extensions/details/adblockforopera/?display=en
- https://addons.opera.com/pt/extensions/details/adguard/?display=en
And go to opera:settings and, under "Sites > Pop-ups", confirm that you're not allowing websites to show pop-ups.

RE: Change default search engine to DuckDuckGoOpera for Windows
Hello,
in order to change yout Google's localisation, please try this:
- Close Opera Browser, go to Opera's user profile directory (you can find the path in O-Menu->About Opera->Paths->Profile or opera:about),
- Open the "Local State" file, and change the "country" and the "country_from_server" values as follows:
"country": "us",
"country_from_server": "US",
or if you would like, you can set them for the UK as follows:
"country": "gb",
"country_from_server": "GB", - After that, increase the "timestamp" value also (it's important - without this change it will not work), for example:
from this "timestamp": "1385978822600000000" to this "timestamp": "1485978822600000000", - save the changes, close the file, and reopen Opera.
(This solution was provided by Sgunhouse in another thread.)
All the best

RE: Any news on Opera Link integration?Future releases
Hey there,
Synchronization is, at the moment, an experimental features which you can enable at opera://flags/#sync .
It will only sync your Speed Dial entries, Stashes and Search Engines, and it may cause the loss of data -- so creating a backup is highly recommended.

What do you mean by automatically? Are the pages refreshing when you switch to that page, or do pages refresh even when you are already on that page?

RE: Opera 23 *whining* - speed-dial shortcut key is gone (ala Opera 12)???Opera for Windows
Regarding your issue with search engines, although there's no option in the GUI to edit the default search engines (this is for security reasons, to avoid browser hijacking, and should be temporary), you can, with a little more effort, change your default search engines. What you should do:
- Go to the Opera's installation root (you can find the path in O-Menu>About Opera>Paths>Install), then change to the ".../VERSION_NUMBER/resources" subdirectory,
- You should find there the "default_partner_content.json" file, rename it to something else, then relaunch the Opera.
- All your default search engines will be gone (except Google, probably), making it possible for you to assign y to YouTube instead of Yahoo.
All the best
