@burnout426 Thanks. Yes, I guess that's it…security. It's there in Safari. It just makes it painful to fill out credit card information when buying something over the web.
Thanks!

@PeterBB So, thanks for the non-answer. Just a load of pretentious crap about how I can go about posing a question.
Why doesn't Opera ask for and store the CVV codes of credit cards in its Payment Methods? It's a pain to have to go get my credit card from my wallet to enter it into most websites.

Hi,
Yeah. I've read more and more about it, and it just appears that Opera is not good at synching with any iPhone. So, I followed a suggestion from somewhere. I downloaded and installed Raindrop, from raindrop.io. It's great. It's taken me a while to get through its intricacies, but it's a powerful tool. Likewise, it has both a browser extension and a Mac app. The extension allows you to save bookmarks, but not go to them. You need the app to actually go to any bookmark. I've got it in my dock so it's easy to get to.
You start out with it by importing your bookmarks from wherever your bookmarks are, presumably Opera.
Any bookmarks saved with Raindrop will never show up, though, in your regular Opera bookmarks view. Which, yeah, is weird, but the app is designed to be a thing of its own. And, it is powerful.
Cheers.
Why am I now getting Nazi-like, Republican articles on my iPhone? Most of them seem to be originally from X, Twitter. I don't use X, Twitter. I hate Republicans. How can I stop this? They show up when I do a pulldown on my iPhone to see what's there, from any news source.
This makes me question Opera as a browser.
I've just installed Opera on my Mac Studio and my iPhone. Nothing is synching. It's not clear at all as to how synching actually works. Is there a button to push? I have no bookmarks on my iPhone. I do have them all, though, on my Mac, imported from Chrome.
There is no synchronization item on my iPhone under Settings.
Yes, I've done everything told to me here—deleted my extensions, turned off my anti-virus, etc., etc.
Mac OS 15.0.1 (24A348)
IOS 18.0.1
Opera 114.0.5282.94
There's a message above the video about synching that says that “I have no synch data stored.”
@peterbb I've given up on Opera and gone back to Firefox. Cheers!
@leocg Cool. Yeah. That worked. But why in the world would I need an offline installer when I got a zip file with an app file enclosed from the Opera website?
Thanks a lot!
@leocg Sorry. What's the offline installer? I'm using what came in the zip file that I downloaded using Safari.
Per advice here on this forum, regarding another issue, I uninstalled Opera on my Mac. Now I'm just trying to re-install it. And, it's not working. It doesn't install. It comes up with this message. I've tried about ten times now. I've got a perfect network connection. I have fast internet access.
@peterbb I can't do anything with imported bookmarks either. This is what I see when I imported from a Dashlane .csv file. It just lists a bunch of bookmarks. It doesn't make them live in any way. If I click on any one of them it asks me for a password. I would have to enter a password for all of them, hundreds!
@egotuber1 Installing what app? Opera?
@leocg I got it now. I just had to move my individual favorites one by one to the toolbar. Thanks again for all your help!
Cool. Thanks. So, I have a folder under Favorites named Peter. I've moved that up there. That's where most of my bookmarks are. But, in addition to that folder are many other bookmarks that I've had on that top toolbar. How do I get them up there? One at a time? I can't seem to select them all and move them up there.
@leocg Sorry, but I've tried to place them there. I guess I don't know how. I'm used to them being there in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.
@leocg
The toolbar at the top there. To the right of the word "Favorites."
I've used Safari. I've used Chrome. I've used Firefox. I like Opera. But, why can't I see my favorites up in my toolbar? I just see the folder called "Favorites" but it doesn't actually show me my favorites up there?
Thanks.
