Hi Emile,

That error means Opera’s profile got corrupted or reset. Check your profile folder (AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable) for “History” files, or restore from a backup/System Restore. If you had Opera Sync enabled, just sign in again to recover data.

I’ve seen similar freezes with Opera after recent updates. A few things you could try: clear cache, disable extensions to see if one is causing it, or reset Opera’s profile folder. Also check if hardware acceleration is enabled — sometimes turning it off fixes startup freezes.

Yes, it happened to me as well. Usually, it is resolved by changing servers or updating the program.

It sounds like a UI bug in Chrome. To rule out extensions, try using Incognito mode or restoring the default settings. Additionally, see if turning off hardware acceleration is helpful. Usually, updating Chrome resolves the issue.

Good extension! Easy, quick, and effective. Future additions of further unit conversions would be much appreciated.

Yes, that sounds annoying. Because Opera's search bar isn't a true calculator, it doesn't always interpret mathematical phrases in the same manner. Thus, unless you specifically use *, -3(16)+47 is not recognised as a multiplication. The safest fix at the moment is to add the *. A good calculator app or an online tool for math input is preferable if you want something that can handle brackets multiplication natively.

You made a good suggestion . Compared to using only the preset stages, having a configurable zoom % would greatly increase flexibility. I hope Opera will think about including it in upcoming releases.

A similar degree of control for zoom would be quite helpful inside the browser as well. I typically use web tools for things like this, such as MyCalSuite for computations and conversions, because they allow me to modify numbers more precisely.

You can turn off Opera’s autofill so it doesn’t interfere with Smartwork.
Go to Settings (Alt+P) > Privacy & Security > Autofill and disable the option for forms, or clear any saved entries linked to Smartwork.

If you don’t want to change the global setting, another option is to open your assignments in a Private Window (Ctrl+Shift+N) — Opera won’t save or suggest autofill data there. That way you’ll be able to practice the math problems without any autofill distractions.
