Can't see history

Hello,
I haven't used Opera browser in awhile. For the past couple of days, there might have been syncing or updating of the browser without my consent.
Recently I clicked on the browser and it said, "can't load your profile" or something like that. The browser opened but my complete history was gone.
Is it somewhere on my computer? How can I get back that history.
Thanks,

Hi Emile,
That error means Opera’s profile got corrupted or reset. Check your profile folder (AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable) for “History” files, or restore from a backup/System Restore. If you had Opera Sync enabled, just sign in again to recover data.

@mycalsuite I can see my history file in Opera Stable/Default Folder is 13 Mb or whatever. So the data is there. But it cannot read the history.
Whenever I try to open Opera, it says, "Your Profile cannot be read". I get six of those msgs, then the browser opens to a new tab.
Can Opera create a patch to fix this. Maybe an update?
I tried system restore but for whatever reasons, my other browsers stopped working. Unrelated, I think. So I undid that restore. Now everything is fine, except Opera is opening on its own when laptop boots, with those messages.
BTW I am Emile-Cioran-Fan.
