Oh I did, it appears that you're the one that didn't since you couldn't see the down side to it.

RSS, IRC, an AMAZING password manager, customization, an actual mail client (no, the deprecated/dead software called Opera Mail is not), notes, contacts, Presto's RAM consumption, torrent client, the sidebar, dragonfly...

And I might be missing some of them as I didn't used them for almost 2 years, but 28 IS miles away from 12 and that's a fact, so it's pointless to discuss it.

@loxiw Bookmarks sync is available in the beta it just wasn't mentioned again in the beta release notes.

I understand, then it'll jump to stable with 28? If that's the case this is a really exciting update

I do not like that flat design, apart from that it's really interesting and I'll consider swapping when the time arrives, that depends of Opera

As I said Outlook, Thunderbird, Pegasus... were never an alternative to web-mails, they are different and aim for different objectives. I strongly believe that if IE/Chrome/Firefox (the mainstream browsers worldwide) had integrated an Opera Mail this would be completely different

It's really sad they dropped Mail support, it was definitely one of the key features of the old Opera.

People defending the feature drop says "today users prefer to use web-based mails", of course they do, they DON'T HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE. A desktop mail client is just a pain and definitely a different concept, you got to install it, run it every time you want to check it, and also they use to be not usables and ugly. So you won't use it unless you are constantly receiving mails from multiple accounts (work or whatever).

Opera Mail was a real alternative to web-based mails, you got your mail client always there, hidden but active, you'll be noticed if any mail arrives, if you wanna access its way more easier to do it than going to gmail and it was CLEAN, it gave you exactly what you wanted with 4-5 customizing options, plus you got it linked to the "mailto:" so you didn't have to worry about that either.

Stripping the titlebar as an option? We are not currently planning to. Things might change however.

I don't know how does it work but I meant stripping it (optionally or not, I don't think anyone would prefer to have a useless space up there) for Elementary OS like in GNOME. Thanks for answering

You can use a windows matching utility like Devilspie2 to strip the title bar in any window manger
Install Devilspie2 and create a file called ~/.config/devilspie2/opera.lua containing the following:
if (getwindowclass()=="Opera developer") then
undecorate_window();
end

You can then run Devilspie2 as a daemon (-d) and it will strip the titlebar off Opera, when it starts up. If you want it to be maximised as well, try this instead:
if (getwindowclass()=="Opera developer") then
maximize();
undecorate_window();
end

Will you implement this behaviour by default in the future? Just to know, I understand that its target is very small

Two days of pretty intensive use of the new Bookmark Manager, it looks like a good way to go even though it needs some tweaks here and there and new features.

But there's one thing I do not understand, why "New folder" is not located at the bottom of the folder list? It's way less usable up there in my opinion, first because its harder to quickly see the folder/subfolder hierarchy with that "New folder" in the middle, and second because in every other feature (tabs, speed dial... except the bookmarks bar, someone has suggested moving the "+" from there too) the "Add Another" thing is behind the items.

I really love it, but there's one thing that bothers me a bit, why do SD use the favicon/text as image while bookmarks works in a completely different way?

I can't believe that you recommended swapping to Opera Mail which you didn't mentioned in a year... please tell us something about it

On the other hand good work in 25, even though it's far from O12 this update really was a big step forward

I can't understand why Opera doesn't say absolutely nothing about this. And why did they even care about splitting the mail client if it was gonna be discontinued anyway?

Even though I didn't see yet the new bookmark system of Opera 25 I did liked so much the Speed Dial (ordinary bookmarks) + Stash (read it later) combination
