Right click (or tap and hold) and select 'Save tabs as Speed Dial folder' from the context menu. Then right click (or tap and hold) on the newly created folder in Speed Dial and select 'Open all' from the context menu.

Or you can use CTRL+ '+' and CTRL+ '-' to zoom in and of pages.

Oh, and just FYI, any page (even internal Opera pages) can have their individual zoom levels set and remembered between sessions, by Opera simply remebering the last zoom level you used to view a particular page with.

The nearest thing that New Opera has that is anywhere similar is if you enable 'Show Advanced Settings' in 'Menu/Settings, then enable 'Delay loading of background tabs', which will now be an available option.

It won't sort the loading from cache abillity that seems to be an unavailable possibility any more, but it should allow you to use Opera much sooner without waiting for every tab you have opened to finish loading.

What check boxes do you mean ?, and at what zoom level do you have the page/s that you are seeing this set at ?.
Have you tried adjusting the zoom level for these affected pages ?.

Sounds like it could be crashing. Is there anything significant that is happening or you are doing, or web site being displayed/loaded when this problem occurs ?.

I personally recommend you give malwarebytes a try, download the free version (from their own site, to be sure) and do a full scan. You may have to restart your computer and do another scan or two, just to be sure that it has found and removed every piece of malware it could.

Having just returned from a week's holiday, I was horrified to find that the neat Speed Dial toggle option had disappeared. I thoroughly dislike the current messy over-detailed, hard-to-read, fussy layout and much prefer the simpler bold block option. Now I have to magnify the screen to decipher the Speed Icons! Not all changes are improvements and here is conclusive proof. Surely this is a retrograde step! I hope that Opera re-instal the toggle option or something similar very soon.

You obviously did not bother to read the post two places above yours, but instead, you effectively just added your name to a list.

People really should take time to read, they would be amazed how much they will or could find out, if they did actually bother.

Well I've just tried all your links in Opera 12.14 on Linux, and every page loads completely in under 5 seconds. No errors, no stalls, nothing, just completely loaded web pages.

But it was possible to enable/disable the fraud checking in the older (Presto) versions of Opera.

It doesn't look spammy to me, but then again, as you say, maybe the filters are set a little too restrictive.
