@jito463 Suggestion. I've found Opera browser sometimes 'remembers' things you don't want or have changed.
You don't mention it, but if you're using the same shortcut on desktop, I would would be inclined to delete it, and unpin the taskbar icon you don't want.
Then go to your Opera folder, right click the Launcher, sending a new shortcut to desktop (it should only sit on taskbar and/or desktop if you make it so).
Don't forget to restart before doing anything else. Hope this helps.

Thank you very for your feedback. This week we've improved this mechanism and now there are two cases which will prevent unexpected changes to your bookmarks bar. The first is that you have manually turned off the bookmarks bar. The second case is that you have removed the suggested bookmark links which popped up recently.

If your bookmarks bar is still experiencing unexpected changes, please file a bug report so we can fix the problem for all users.

Of course, when Chrome releases their update Opera will get it automatically.

True, and I intended to mention that in my post, but forgot (thanks for catching that for me). My intent was simply to alert people to the phishing bug, so they can be aware of it.

It's regular in a sense of not being a kind of file strange to Opera's file structure. Of course the size of the file seems to be an issue.

I don't know any way to avoid those messages.

Thanks for the reply. I simply renamed my profile (I never delete until I'm sure), so I may attempt your solution later, to see if it will work, as well.
