@andrew84 I have tested Chrome, Edge, and Vivaldi. Even if chromium has this problem, every single chromium browser has managed to fix it for their respective audience, except Opera. Now I hear they don't even read the forums. No wonder nothing gets fixed.

@gchavez i have completely given up on this problems and devs in general. If it's really a chromium issue, how is it that other browsers don't have this problem?
I switched to edge months ago, and let me tell you it's far better. No annoying major bugs, instant response to complaints. This issue has been open for so long, no response from devs yet and no fixes. What else is there to do?

@leocg it's also working for avoiding white flashes when opening any new webpage from a new tab page. Be it via speed dial or address. This was the primary concern of this thread actually, and this flag, unknowingly so, fixed that. But now it's deprecated in v71.

@andrew84 Probably, but at least there is a way in other browsers to fix it now. If it was introduced as a fix, I think the flag could have stayed for a bit longer, can't use beta now because of that. BTW, the flag causes an increase in startup time of the browser too. I thought my system was fried, but I googled a little, and I saw an article asking people to disable that flag for a much much quicker startup. It's like pick your poison.

@leocg Meaning the white flashes while opening web pages is still present, and the Shared Start Page flag is missing. Basically a dead end.

@andrew84 These 2 are very different actually. The one on Edge is due to the ntp.msn.com start page. If you remove that from start, you can easily avoid the flash.
With chrome, the wallpaper causes issues. My theme from the web store already has an inbuilt wallpaper, and I don't see any such flash.

@andrew84 I did try that today, and I never saw this issue with any of them. Although they were in dark mode. I don't see any logical reason why I would use light themes and ask for dark transitions.
Having that choice is good, but I don't think that should be the first priority for dark transitions, that is to make it compatible with light themes.

@andrew84 I don't know man, on my windows laptop, I use Chrome, Brave, Vivaldi, Edge Chromium and Opera. As of right now, only Opera is giving me trouble in this regard.

@leocg the flag works for me now as well. But, it's not available in v71, and it isn't implemented in the browser either. I tried using Beta. Couldn't do anything to solve it.

@leocg As mentioned above, the flag doesn't work for me, but it works on my father's laptop. Why did it get removed in v71 ?

@andrew84 Same, the white flashes are still present, disabling the flag didn't help either. I still don't understand why Opera isn't trying to do anything about this, No replies from mods or developers either.

@daniel9895 I'm starting to think they don't consider it an issue anymore, otherwise there is no way development team as reputed as Opera doesn't even acknowledge widespread bugs, let alone fix them fast like any dev team would do.

Tried the new developer update today. Still no fix. I don't understand anymore.

I have an Adguard for Android license that works as a great adblocker with Chrome and Brave and even Firefox. They have their own certificate installed on Device that is used for HTTPS filtering in browsers. I haven't been able to make it work with Opera Stable build for Android. It's a little tricky for Firefox, because they use their own certificate store, instead of the one on Android Device, but it can be installed easily with some steps. As far as I have seen, all Chromium browsers work great with Adguard. Is there a catch here? Does Opera not accept third party user certificates?

@zerescas Same. Can't work anymore with so many flashes. And it's the brightest shade too. Resorting to Edge Chromium now till a fix arrives at least.

@leocg I used GX yesterday, and it wasn't fixed. It was the updated version as well.

@leocg just a minor question, is this fix going to be available for Opera GX as well or that will be implemented much later?
