In the U.S., when I use VPN and pick a site in the Americas and go to YouTube, why am I offered almost 90% Russian YouTube videos?
Is this normal?
Something I should be worried about?
Many thanks.

ISP is Verizon FiOS. Machine is a 3 year old MB Pro running latest version of High Sierra and latest version of Opera.
With VPN my results are:
Download 380 kbps
Upload 420 kbps
Latency = 92 ms
Without VPn my results are:
Downloads: 58.44 Mbps
Uploads: 54.02 Mbps
Latency = 16 ms
Test site used was SpeedOf.Me
Might others consider posting their speeds w/ and w/o VPN on?
@pczerokey said in How to FIX Opera Flash Issue Not Loading Guide:
Put in Browser : opera://settings/?search=flash
For your readers who are not as technically savvy as you, would you be a bit more clear? E.g., you said: Put in Browser : opera://settings/?search=flash.
Put this WHERE in Browser. Thanks so much for your patience.
My experience was the same as yours running the same version of Opera. What I did was to change the settings for cookies to <Keep local data only until I quit my browser>, quit & relaunched Opera and the cookies were gone.
@concretable
Thanks. Download both those extensions and will check on the Preference setting.
I searched but could not find one, and so ask here: is there any extension for Opera for Mac that will prevent videos on a newly loaded page from automatically playing?
Thanks
Using Opera on an iMac running High Sierra.
When I go to a newspaper article and click on Opera's share icon, then mouse down to Mail, it opens a new email in Apple's Mail.app with only the URL of the article.
When I do the same thing in Safari, it opens a new email in Apple's Mail.app with the entire text of the article including photos.
That would be a wonderful feature to have because: when you send full articles, there is no danger that the person to whom you are sending them will eventually reach the limit of X free articles per month posed by some sites with a paywall.
Otherwise, just loving Opera and have made it my default browser.
Are extensions in Opera for Mac updated automatically or do I need to set a reminder to check for updates every once in awhile?
Many thanks
FWIW, I am using Opera build 49.0.2725.39 on a MacBook Pro running High Sierra. Just tried to access the passwords saved on Opera and was able to successfully do so.
I may have found a solution to my own problem.
I just updated Opera to v. 49.
If I now go to Youtube, right click on a video, and chose to open it in another tab, the video immediately opens and plays.
I have a MacBook Pro running High Sierra and when I go to Youtube and click on any video, nothing happens. When I go to the same Youtube video in Safari, it plays. It's really annoying having to cut and paste from one browser to another in order to watch a Youtube video . Trying to make Opera my default browser, but behavior like this is preventing me from doing so.
@ron45 You might check out this page with instructions about how to ask for help with your computer.
I have been playing around with Opera for awhile, off and on, and have decided to make it my default browser. I would like to delete all my Opera bookmarks at one fell swoop, and then import my most up-to-date bookmarks from Safari. I can't figure out how to do so.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
The previous Dropbox link did not work; this one should https://www.dropbox.com/s/w9w6qs9vvn5kvs6/clip_2.png?dl=0
Strangely, in the Bookmarks manager, I found TWO folders labeled Bookmarks Bar.
The topmost one, immediately under All Bookmarks and a second one which became visible when I tapped the triangle to close the All Bookmarks.
The arrangements of the bookmarks in the Bookmarks folder immediately under All Bookmarks did not reflect the arrangement of the bookmarks in the Bookmarks Bar; the folder labeled Bookmarks Bar at the very bottom of the Bookmarks Manager did, so I simply deleted the topmost Bookmarks Bar folder and now all is well.
I have an iMac, 2015, running OS 10.12.5 and the latest version of Opera.
I cannot determine how to rearrange the order of the bookmarks in the folders in my bookmarks bar.
Lets say that in the Opera sidebar I go to All Bookmarks > Bookmarks Bar and then to the folder titled Apple and rearrange the bookmarks therein and then close the Bookmarks sidebar, if I then click on the Apple folder in the main window of Opera, in its Bookmarks Bar, the order of the bookmarks in that folder has not changed.
Many thanks.
Got it guys. Thanks. It is so different from Safari, my default browser for 20 years, that I had a difficult time wrapping my mind around exactly what the process was.
Greatly appreciate your patience.
Hi concretable,
I guess, as usual, I was unclear in the way I put my question.
Here's an annotated screenshot

Try as I may, I can find no simple way to move those bookmarks on the right into that #1 bookmarks folder on my bookmarks bar.
Dragging one from the window on the right, for instance, and dropping it right on top of that #1 folder in the bookmarks toolbar results in a window allowing me to add it to the Bookmarks Bar, not drop it into the #1 folder which is what I want to do.
If it's not too much of a hassle, could I ask you to be a bit more specific?
Many thanks for your patience.
