I ran into the "something went wrong" message a couple days ago. I absolutely DID NOT sign out or reset sync. I also noticed that I was signed out on my android version of Opera (which is vers. 43 -- I refuse to update it because I despise the newer ui) I DID NOT sign out on there either! I was able to sign back in after restarting Opera, but it's obvious that I can no longer trust sync to keep me logged in. With each new update, Opera becomes more and more of a steaming pile of crap! 😡

@leocg Interesting! I can swear it was set to "of" long, long ago but now it is set to "on". That's weird...
Didn't even check it before posting 'cause i know it is turned off.

Every other time I upgrade Opera, the upgrade adds bookmarks to the SpeedDial page without asking.

I personally find this behaviour very intrusive.

Please refrain from doing that.

This applies to Opera on all platforms, BTW.

Aw, c'mon, man! Auto-update MUST NOT update my "extensions, ad-block lists and so on" since i'm not using Opera's ad-blocker.

So how does that matter? Auto-update in software makes updates to files that, in turn, are used as references by function modules within the browser, whether you are "using" those browser functions or not. It's the same in Windows and AV programs and virtually all auto-updating software on your system: files are updated to keep the program current, whether or not a user has selected to use certain features. So, for example, an ad-block "block list" will get updated for the browser whether the user enables its usage or not.

This is a good idea.
