@leocg Why? Why would this not be built into opera? I get it physics, but it should be able to turn off.

Can video auto play be stopped?General
I'm a developer. I use a browser - my current go to is opera - for a lot of research, different threads, I probably need meds
My point is that I can typically have 100+ tabs open (yes opera, you still have memory leaks).
Because Windows forces me to reboot due to their assine issues, I'll fire up opera and then I have to go find every gd video that autoplays.
Is there a solution for this? Going through the search results, this has been an issue for years, and there is simply no excuse for it.

RE: YTDVideoDownload source?Opera for Windows
@leocg I'm fishing
not accusing. Trying to isolate how this might have happened. If Opera actually did it, and I am not saying it did, but if it did that would be a little okay - just trying to figure out how something like this got through the cracks.
The only thing I deliberately installed was the discus application on the Windows 10 machine. Windows 11 has had nothing installed on it for months.
It occurs to me another thought - well crap. Lost my train of thought. Sucks getting old.

RE: YTDVideoDownload source?Opera for Windows
@ceedee I actually have 3 physical systems and a ridiculous amount of virtual machines. I fired up my server box, allowed it to update Windows (been off for a while) and Opera.
No YTD... doing a deep scan on my Windows 11 laptop now. This just irritates the hell out of me, and I would not put it past Microsoft to be at fault. I will follow up.

RE: YTDVideoDownload source?Opera for Windows
@ceedee I'm running Opera One(version: 105.0.4970.34). It's allegedly a tool to allow you to download and capture video from youtube.
There is no entry in the installed programs list, so I had a theory that maybe a browser "helped" me. Very weird. I'll be cleaning it up today.

YTDVideoDownload source?Opera for Windows
By any chance is Opera installing this s/w by default? It could only happen after a browser update. I know I didn't install it, but it just showed up on 2 of my machines (I run Opera on both).

Searching for suggestions on tabs and windows collection managementOpera for computers
I've searched assorted extensions, but none of them seem to work.
I use opera every day for work, searches, across multiple mental tracks , etc. I may need medication
The end result of the last xx months is I now have 25 opera windows and a lot of tabs. Yes, I have an issue, but it's not my fault, it's opera's. The browser makes it too easy to get into this mess.
Last line was a joke.
The problem is that each tab/tabs/windows essential represents a search project or thought process. I don't want to lose the current window, and I really want to save the history.
Can anyone suggest an extension or approach to:
-
minimally, collect all windows and tabs into a single opera session maintaining the history behind each tab.
-
take all open Windows and tabs and collect them into an ordered book mark list?
I just saw something about tab islands. I need to go read.
Appreciate any thoughts or comments.

RE: "This site canโt provide a secure connection" Frequent error!General
@oldpucker57 If it's free support, you get what you pay for
. I use VMWare Workstation extensively, and their community forums are mostly useless. Not even sure why they have the damn things (community forums).
Anyway, keep this in mind: "For the record, all of my browsers were griping about this error. " When I say all of my browsers it's Opera, Chrome, Firefox and ugh, Edge. Your issue may be subtly different.

RE: "This site canโt provide a secure connection" Frequent error!General
@oldpucker57 I ran into this problem when my local customer elected to screw around with their firewall. The problem turned out that I needed to install on my laptop the firewall key. Note this is on Windows, not the browser.
For the record, all of my browsers were griping about this error. Hope it helps.
