@bandiit 100% percent this, it's nice but animations (pretty much any kind) do not belong to purely functional software like internet browser. They're nice in certain websites, like portfolios and that's pretty much it.
No other software (or webpages) designed for actual work has any animations - for good reasons. They are distracting and waste your time.
And workspaces has word "work" right there! 
seconding "save and restore"/ "color code workspaces" ideas.
Also - a little number next to workspace icon indicating how many tabs are open inside. Or just some indication that there are ANY tabs opened would be nice.
Because how it is now, you open some tabs in second workspace, switch to first, do some work.. and forget about tabs in second workspace altogether

I can't understand why would you ever REMOVE functionality as simple and useful as this. What are you gonna remove next? Speed dial?
@leocg Didn't know that - but then again, I never really thought about that till now. Makes sense though I guess - this way, they don't spend money which could be used to remove some useful functionality like this.

Main issue for me is the border radius of thumbnails - it's too large, not saving space, you just see less of that thumbnail. The old radius was juuuust right.
I think better solution would be to just come up with more themes

I am thinking the same I already use shortcut to access history, don't really need to access downloads (icon in toolbar is enough), no need to access extensions, My Flow, search.. Still, it would be really nice if they just gave us back the possibility to pin/unpin sidebar as before!

I don't use them that often so it's easy to forget I have some tabs opened there.. just a small red dot in the corner (like messenger and whatsapp have) - could be turned off/on in the settings.
Another thing: switching between workspaces is unnecessarily long because of the animation. At least give us an option to disable it. Yeah it looks nice and fancy.. the first time

It can be really pain in the ass trying to click on those few pixels of that rectangle, just give us some more options, like:
As some topics here already suggested: option to give it a name and then keep that name visible at all times
option to change the shape to something wider, like a circle, box, or simply wider rectangle
I believe function should be primary objective of internet browser, not it's design.. all these changes look to be design oriented first, function second.
@mixchild I agree.. though maybe it could be a simple option in settings - always show first page from the island
There is an option called "reduce animations" which does exactly that. BUT - it's still not as smooth and fast as it used to be but huuuge improvement.
It's time saver - I want to be able to close the current page and go to the speed dial at the same time so I can pick something else from it.. or just type an URL.
Now?
I have to close the tab and then click on "plus" button - so it's one unnecessary extra click. Whyy opera, whyyy.

@james438 You were right, banned already. Yeah, did some feedback with the smiley as well but considering the vast amount of posts here - I doubt they do something about it. If they do, it will be because someone there didn't like it either I suspect
