@blackbird71
I use Opera for free movies, so always via vpn.
But, rarely use it for youtube.
But, it has never been a problem till recently (the past week).
With vpn off, youtube loads fine. But, I use Opera because it has free vpn! So, I'll stick to using Opera for movie streaming/vpn, and firefox for all my run-a-day stuff as per usual

I've found various advice sites reviewing such phenomenoms
I'll try their mutual advice out in the morning.
but, for tonight, farewell youtube, and all who sailed in you! -
It.s like youtbe is firewalled out of operaOpera for Windows
Before I begin, I'm guessing this may be an issue due to my current experiments into addons which block page elements, and various cookie activity.
If that's the case, youtube (google) is very allergic to the concept. So much so, that youtube can't make an appearance in my opera browser,
on opera, all sites connect. But with youtube, it is as though I'm offline.
Everything is fine on firefox. But I've always prefered Opera's video experience, and VPN for political, and current affairs, and a bit of naughty..I'll try disabling CookieBlock and PopUpOff, since those are the only obvious additions to my Opera that coincide with this lack of the rabbithole of youtube.
I just thought I'd write this in case any one else is getting this phenomenon, and we can build a list of what, if any, addons are causing it, or otherwise find the cure.
I just tried disabing both of the mentioned extensions.
Still getting:
''This site can’t be reached
The web page at https://www.youtube.com/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED''
cotton pickin tarnation! I can't think of a less-than-15-characters-long tag for ''youtube won't connect to opera''

405 Method Not Allowed (on page reloads)Opera for Windows
Recently, while using Opera for (free) movie streaming sites, (123, mu4free, usual suspects) and I happen to go back a page, or reload one, I now get this almost every time:
''Oops! An Error Occurred
The server returned a "405 Method Not Allowed".
Something is broken. Please let us know what you were doing when this error occurred. We will fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.''it appears to be in connection with Cloudflare constantly checking on me, and insisting I click the ''I'm human'' button every time I perform the above two simple common tasks (back-page/reload page)
So, I guess it isn't strictly an Opera issue, and likely Cloudflare, but if there happen to be ways to prevent this utter niusance? I'd greatly appreciate it.

RE: Upload error for add-onOpera add-ons
@auvitas
i get the same, or similar error warning just for reloading normal pages. In my case, seems to have less to do with addons, and more to do with the inner-workings of Cloudflare, since it only happens (so far as I've had any need to notice) on pages that somehow have Cloudflare doing ''security'' checks for them. -
RE: Opera for android won't start/loadOpera for Android
@andreszs
That makes sense,
And should usher in loads of future replies with clips from tv comedy IT Crowd ''Have you tried turning it off and on again?'' -

I tired restarting phone and Hey Presto! Opera working again. But still non-the-wiser as to why it happened in the first place. -
Opera for android won't start/loadOpera for Android
Suddenly tonight, 14th Jan 2024, when trying to use opeŕa, on touching icon, the app apoears then vanishes. When i touch the three stripes on bottom-left of phone (which is usually used to switch to other opened apps) i see it there but blacked out. But it won't at all load itself when i click on it.
I tried a fresh install. No joy. It's like it can't work on my phone anymore.
I tried variations in its settings in app settings.
But nothing works. My firefox is totally fine.
So whats up with opera for android?
Is it just my phone? Is it opera? Or does it not like me anymore?
I use a samsung A10s -
RE: Opera will not load-stuck on "loading" tab...Opera for Windows
i find i get this issue when "turbo" is on (whi9ch, if most of us are honest is the main reason we use opera!)
NO PAGES LOAD any more when turbo is on.
it seems finer when turbo is off (have any of you checked to see if turbo is on or off?).i am almost ready to completely uninstall opera as it can't do what i installed it for now...
-
RE: websites load fine until i turn turbo on?Opera for Windows
so basically we are not getting a fix or solution to this?
turbo is the MAIN reason why my friends and i use opera, so maybe time to uninstall if it can't do it's thing? -
RE: websites load fine until i turn turbo on?Opera for Windows
on windows 10, very high spec PC, i cannot get ANY page to now load with turbo switched on.
if turbo is off, any page loads ok (unless IP blocks me), but not one single page will load when it is on.this problem has only troubled me for the past month.
it IS an opera issue, NOT my PC as any other browser i use is fine (i find each browser has it's strengths. opera is good for vieo, and turbo gets me past censorship, so now opera is as good as USELESS for me as it can't do what i downloaded it for)

RE: ubuntu 14.04, red opera button has vanished, cant find turbo. is this normal? opera 26.0.1632.0.Opera for Linux
re-posted with mistakes taken out:
Version: 26.0.1632.0 - Opera is up to date
Update stream: developer
System: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS (x86_64; Unity)
i used to have an opera button at top left of browser, which when clicked gave me a full menu including "turbo", which has now vanished and i cant find a way to make it reappear, which now makes me feel as though i have less control over my browser.
it also means i cannot see turbo in any of the menu options.
has this feature been obsoleted? has the turbo feature been disregarded?is there a way to correct this?

RE: Just updated, menu bar now missing?Opera for Windows
on the above subject of needed code for both tab,and i guess red "O" button as options, the arguement about extra code seems pointless.the code for both exist already, and professional developers will have templates etc....
i just want the actual options like turbo that i got with the red "O" button. it's less time-wasting to navigate my way through. -

RE: Just updated, menu bar now missing?Opera for Windows
i'm finding this a bit confusing.
"alt" simply makes the name of the current tab vanish while u see the menu bar, BUT where has my red opera button gone with "turbo" on it?
