I would like the sidebar icon to be placed at the top like the regular version/GX.
This is the suggestion that was posted in the Japanese forum.

The sidebar icons are placed at the top in standard and the GX, but at the center and bottom in One.
When browsing, I usually move the cursor near the top, so the sidebar icon is at the top so the distance to move is less.

設定 → サイトの設定 → 画像
にて、画像を非表示にできます。
の URL にて直接遷移できますので、スピードダイヤルやブックマークに入れておくと素早く切り替えられるかと思います。
において、テキストをダブルクリックして選択すると、クラッシュします。
たとえば、バージョンをコピーしようと「opera://update」ページでバージョンをダブルクリックすると再現します。
テキストをドラッグして選択する場合はクラッシュすることなく選択できました。

Since the problem was also reproduced with a portable install, I don't think the settings, extensions, or flags settings have anything to do with it.

opera://about/ を開いて表示される「プロファイル」のディレクトリに
Bookmarks.bak があれば、中身は JSON ファイルとなりますので、メモ帳等で閲覧して状況が確認できるかもしれません。
上記トピックの回避策により暫定対応済みのようですが、同様の問題で困っている方のために一応コメントします。
Windows 版 Opera では「Operaをこの言語で表示設定」を選択することにより、メニュー全般の言語も変えられるようですが、
Linux 版 Opera では、あくまでウェブサイトの表示言語のみのようで、メニュー全般の表示言語については、Ubuntu 側の設定が優先されるようです。
（ここまでは Google Chrome もおそらく同じ動作です）
手元の環境でも日本語の Ubuntu 24.04 の環境を用意し
を確認したところ、確かに英語になってしまいました。
（Google Chrome や Firefox は日本語メニュー）
より、
（インストール方法により異なります）
の中で
opera --lang=ja-jp
のように引数をつけるとひとまず解決するとのことです。

英語のフォーラムでもいくつか報告があるのですが、Opera のブックマーク同期機能が動作していないという報告が上がっています。
自分の場合、PC 二台で Developer 113.0.5210.0 版と Beta 112.0.5197.10 をインストールして同期しており、Android 版もインストールしています。
opera://settings/syncSetup で PC 二台ともブックマークの同期機能は有効になっています。
https://www.sync.opera.com/ のページも、古い状態のままです。
において、テキストをダブルクリックして選択すると、クラッシュします。
